Looks good man.

I don’t want any part of picking those D3 matchups late in the tourney based on your rankings 2vs7, 3 vs 6, 4 vs 5….no thanks

... yep! Warren vs Zane Trace Monday at ODU - 1st game of the day ... Tuesday Federal Hocking vs Vinton County ... if the Warriors beat ZT on a neutral court - they leap frog Gallia and Fairland ... Fed Hock with a W vs Vinton County can move into the Elite 8 ... Federal Hocking has won 11 straight ! pfloyd will be in Stewart Tuesday night for this TVC Ohio vs TVC Hocking inter-divisional clash for TVC supremacy ...

FU also plays in the 614 classic tomorrow at ODU. It's the last game of the day at 7:30 against a very good CCL school Bishop Hartley who is 9-3.

#29 Portsmouth, with a 4-8 record, has lost twice to #39 Coal Grove with a 4-9 record. 🤔🤔

January 24 Fairfield will play at Fayetteville. I believe Fayetteville is 12-2. This will be SHAC D2 vs D1. This will be a dog fight .

About 27-45 are close….not easy. Good point though. If Portsmouth does have a couple better wins, they’ve still be swept.

Minor error...you have Miller listed at the bottom with an 0-9 record but they won its first game this past Wednesday Jan 11th vs Fisher Catholic 60-49

Great job as always pfloyd.

My random thought — I don’t see how Paint Valley is above South Webster. What wins justify that? Even more so, what’s the worst loss each team has had? South Webster plays in a better league and has lost @ Valley (#7), Minford (#1), and @ Wheelersburg (#22 and been right there in every loss they’ve had, including having Minford beat at Minford before blowing it late).

Just can’t seem to look at the schedules of both teams and figure out how Paint Valley has earned the spot over them.

Uhh, they got dominated at home against Minford. It wasn’t close at all. It was 68-46 and they won the 4th quarter.

Therefore, I’m guessing the ranking is off the eye-test since pfloyd has seen both teams. I’ve seen them both and would also take Paint Valley over Webster, although it’s close. Webster probably has a higher ceiling, but also a much lower floor, as we saw with them giving lackluster effort against Minford.

Paint Valley has lost at Fairfield, at Westfall, at Zane Trace and vs Fed Hock on a neutral court. No bad losses in there, although the game at Westfall was a bigger margin than anticipated.

So their worst loss is to the #1 team in SEO? The same one that just pounded #10 North Adams by 15? Sure, Webster played bad but Minford has the ability to beat most teams in SEO by a good margin if they’re on. SW has reeled off 5 straight wins since the Minford loss so it seems to be the wake up they needed.

Massive tests this week against Burg and Valley may give us a better indication as to where they are.

And yes, I’ve seen Paint Valley. Twice now. They’re solid but I just don’t think they’re better than SW and don’t have any win that makes me think they’re deserving of being ahead of them. What’s their best wins? A young Unioto team? Lynchburg? You’re basically saying a team with more losses, no wins worth noting, deserves to be over another team solely because they got blown out by the #1 team in SEO in one game.

Good question bbjunky81 !... Paint Valley #16 & South Webster #17 ... I think they are close simply by the ranking ... BUT (and there is ALWAYS a but) as daniC pointed out it comes down to the "eye test" for me ... I saw the performance at home vs Minford by SW ... in the cheap seats for Paint Valley vs Federal Hocking ... those 2 games comparing the 2 teams gives the edge to Paint Valley imo even though the only REAL way is for them to go head to head ... but all I can do is compare each team based on what I've seen in person as well as compare their opponents in the losses and W's as well (helps if I've seen them as well)... SW losses to Valley/Minford/Burg vs Fairfield #2 (right below Minford)/Westfall #23 (right below the Burg)/ZT (#12 have been in the top 8 this season)/Federal Hocking (#9 the Lancers have forced their way thru the rankings, imo the BEST perimeter shooting TEAM in the 71 team field, 11 straight wins, moves into the Elite with a W over #8 Vinton County this Tuesday) ... don't get me wrong I like both teams but IF I had to do a final ranking RIGHT NOW based on what I've seen in-person and on video - at THIS point in the season I would have to take a real close look at the teams BELOW South Webster who I feel will eventually move above SW based on their current play on the court (not overall record) - Marietta/Sheridan/Jackson to name a few ... BUT the short answer to your "good" question - the "eye test" of the 2 teams

That was the worst game websters played in years and was the wake up call they needed and the start of them cracking the reigns on Roberts to get his ass in gear. Since then Websters went back to the zone press they ran last season and it’s worked really good. The losses to Valley and Burg… easily we could be 12-1 but credit to those teams who are also really good
