I graduated from Eastern years ago, but I do have to say. I enjoy watching this Minford team play basketball. I heard a rumor Mr. Miles Montgomery is itching close to the 1,000 point club as a sophomore? Is there any truth to that?

Congratulations to Coach Josh Shoemaker and the Minford Falcons for their SOC II title. I predicted before the season that Minford was the team to beat, and for once I got a prediction right. MHS has the best chance of any D3 SE team to reach the Final 4.

The only time to really give Minford trouble has been Valley. Oh and they are in their side of the bracket. I am surprised that Minford swept the league especially with Valley and SW. Usually Minford will blow a game or so but seem really focused this year.

Minford will probably beat us by 50 cause we’re 🗑️ now but they still have one to play

I ask a couple weeks ago about it and was told they didn't know how many he needs. I would say he's getting close.

His career average has to be close to 22-24ppg. Probably 44 or so career games so far?

Minford escaped burg the first game probably should of lost. But as long as kayser plays at a high level, teams better get the baseball bats out.

I read he had 300 something in 11 games this year alone. Wouldn't mind to see how close he is. If he doesn't get it this year. I say he will get it early next season.

Speaking of the sommer/yeagle combo minford had in the 1994 season, I think a kid like Austin Sommer that transferred to SW last spring from burg, would have fit this minford group really well and without a doubt made them capable of a state run. He is like 6'3 or so, shoots from outside well, plays extremely hard and is a great defender who has size and plays physical. Too bad he didn't follow dads footsteps and join the Falcons.

County Champions: 1932, 1933, 1938, 1948, 1949, 1950, 1951, and 1952.

SOC Champs: 1948, 1949, 1951, 1952, 1953, 1954, 1955, 1995, 2013 Co-Champs, 2015, and 2023.

District Champion: 1994, and 1995.

What’s crazy is that Minford was SOC2 Champs and District Champs but Wheelersburg was State Runner Up that year to Orrville.
So in 67 years, Minford has 4 league titles and you call that a "rich" basketball history. In their 2nd High School, they won one league title!!!! That is a league title every 17 years.

And I need to see this kid play!

I saw Minford play South Webster Tuesday, and the Falcons are as good as advertised. They have multiple weapons on offense, and can play some sticky man to man defense. The Falcons have the best chance of any SE team to reach the Final 4. I also came away with a good impression of South Webster. If the Jeeps can play like that in the D4 tourney, they will a really tough out and could land in the regional. The MHS--SW game was single digits most of the way. Jeeps hung in tough against the Falcons.

Anytime you can win a conference title and beat Eastern Brown to do it yiou have built definite MOJO points for your program. Hopefully Minfrod can maintain this in the tournament.

Minford does not have a rich traditon in basketball or any sport for that matter. Baseball has been good for the last 10 years or so. That is about it.

11 Conference titles Since 1948. That’s one about every 6-7 years. That’s pretty darn good to me.

There may be a chance for you guys to hire an awesome coach after this year. It may be about time for some new wallpaper in Tuppers Plains.

Awesome. Another good win for an emerging program.
