Sectional finals driving distance:
Circleville to Gallia -- 1:21
Marietta to Fairfield Union -- 1;35
Warren to Washington CH -- 2:12
Ironton to New Lex -- 2:26

Who on earth thinks this is good? The southeast district board, apparently...

It was fine the Covid year, but this needs changed asap. Just switch back to the set sectional sites. Although it sounds like the OHSAA is taking all of the money, so I can see why the old sites wouldn’t be interested anymore.

SuperSectional Seeds need to stay! However, what needs to change is after seeding, the District allow teams to pick where they want on the bracket. All or most other Districts do this. This would then allow a team to navigate where they want to go as well as top seeds pick where they want to come out of Districts, if they win of course. But allows a little bit of strategy. The lower seeds would then have a choice between competition and distance. Choices, that is an interesting concept! LOL

100% agree. The whole district seeding is the right way to go and teams need to be able to pick where they play.

100% agree. Problem is all the districts are going to this format in the next year or 2.

... I 100% agree ... I'm a neutral court man for all postseason games ... take the homecourt advantage out ...

Totally agree. Do other regions allow home court advantages in postseason?

Yes, I believe. Possibly for higher seeds to get 2-3 home games before heading to Districts for all neutral sites.

District Semis

I’m not sure on this one. New Lexington did literally everything well when I watched them…took care of ball, rebounded, shot great, nailed free throws…and their interest in being great on defense is the best I’ve seen this year.

Washington has shown up in their big games. They’ve shown the tendency to take parts of games off but can’t fathom that now. They beat Warren…they can win this district. LeMaster is a monster and can do it all and has been a great leader this season. Wall and Landon for NL should offset each other. Great role players with some skill to score….in the end, even without Bearden WCH has more talent….so WCH by 7

But defense travels and if WCH any foul trouble….could be a small upset.

Good luck to both teams, both very deserving.

Gallia Academy vs Fairfield Union….both playing well. This could be a tight game throughout. First team to 40 wins. FU by 4
