6 would be the perfect number of divisions in my mind. It helps to make D1 discrepancies lesser and doesn’t kill smaller schools on the back end by spreading it all too far out.

That's my thinking. With 6, you can still do a State final four in 3 days and make money with 3 2-game sessions. D1 would be reduced to 80 teams with 8 districts of 10 teams or 16 districts of 5 teams. D2-D6 would be 144 teams with 8 districts of 18 teams each or 16 districts of 9 teams each.

I would prefer a 5 division setup with 96 teams in D1 (16 districts of 6 or 8 districts of 12) and 176 teams each in D2-D5 (16 districts of 11 or 8 districts of 22), but I think OHSAA blows past 5 divisions in the pursuit of money.
