Who is “HIM” in the Week that IS? 2/5 - 2/10/24

Post by pfloyd »

Trying to give props to all of the players across the SE District who had excellent performances each game night - win or lose! .... offensive or defensive performances! ... starters or off the bench! - players who had outstanding contributions to the TEAM effort ... I only get to 1 game per night - those players get recognized in my writeups BUT there are many, many, many players who deserve to be recognized for what they do for their teams nightly, on teams/games I don't get to - with your assistance WE can make this happen - thanks, pfloyd

Please post exceptional individual performer names/with school name & stat lines from the Week that IS (Tuesday 2/6 -Saturday 2/10) :

I don't typically see Jackson standout performances, as it's often a fairly even spread... BUT, Tuesday night Jackson vs Meigs... the lone senior on Jackson's roster, Boston Campbell, was HUGE.
At one point, Campbell had scored 18 of Jackson's 36 points... and was the difference-maker in the paint for Jackson. I apologize I don't have the full stat line, but he was a critical rebounder, and toss in a couple of key assists in the second half to #11 Carroll for 3's, and it was a stellar all-around performance. He hit some big free throws coming down the stretch, also.

Big Kudos to the senior!

Should be his typical stat line with his size and pedigree.

Kohen Maynard (Logan) 17 pts / 5 triples ... the 6-5 senior swingman for the Chieftains did his part in trying to will the Purple and White to an upset, road W vs the Jackson Ironmen ... Maynard & the Chiefs fell short as the Ironmen of Coach Max Morrow got solid, balanced scoring across the board as Boston Campbell (Jackson) 13pts/Stephen Jenkins (Jackson) soph. 11pts/1 trey ... Bhodi Wolford (Jackson) soph. 11pts... Ryan Seimetz (Jackson) soph. 8pts/1 trey ... Jax Carroll (Jackson) soph 6pts/2 treys ... Charlie Woodard (Jackson) soph. 5pts ... the "super sophs" for Jackson accounted for 41 of the Jackson 54 points in the Ironmen 54-37 win Friday night in the Apple City ...

DeAndre Berry has been a model of consistency for the Portsmouth Trojans. His 36 point effort last night at South Point was a school record 7th time that he has scored at least 30 points in a game. He broke the record of former greats Damond Mannon and Kyre Allison, both of whom had 6 games of such. Berry has now scored 1,161 points in his career, and is averaging 25.6 PPG.

Watch DeAndre play and he is more than just a scorer. He does everything a coach could ask for, and he makes everyone around him better.
