4 tough matchups with Steubenville taking on New Philly, Tri-Valley taking on Dover, Warren/Marietta round 3, and MT/Chilli round 3. Give me Steubenville/Tri-Valley and Warren/Miami Trace moving on to face each other in the semis.

I agree with that, but Warren/Marietta will down to the wire again, should be a great game.

Warren-Marietta game could come down to the wire, but likely not. Tigers have no business having the kind of season they've put together (17-4) after losing their top 3 players from last season, one of them being the 6-8 SE Ohio Player of the Year. Lost two games this season by 1 point. Warren is playing it's best basketball and has experienced, senior leadership.

I agree that Warren should win, I just believe Marietta will give them a closer game this time around than the last, their Coach ain't gonna let them lay down for anyone. A Warren vs. Miami Trace district semi final game would be great matchup though, just hate that it's being played at Logan HS instead of at the Convo in Athens. Wish all the district games were there, miss the the good ole days for sure...

Marietta will be superbly prepared (coach has done remarkable things in three years there) -- just a question if the Tigers are shooting great, staying out of foul trouble and can execute. Will need Warren to not be at their best and the home court factor is real.

Based on what has been said, Warren should win by double digits. No coach in the Southeast does more with his players than Marietta’s coach — individual player development and support — just ask Alex Kendall. But Warren has too much tournament experience and size to not get the job done at home. Hope its an injury-free competitive game.

You mean the officials aren’t calling the game. I’ve never seen the allowance of two hands to guard and hold the ball handler. Awful. Two hands is an immediate foul or is there a different rule in Vincent?

64-45 Warren. 9-point game with 4 1/2 minutes left and the best player on the court (tonight) fouled out. The final score deceivingly wide. Having said that, Warriors can go a long way this year — maybe Final Four.

Refs let it go all night both ways. I can’t imagine anyone say any different. Refs stayed consistent I’ll say that.

I believe Warren is poised to make another run.

The game must be called different in Marietta, because the maddening allowance of two hands on the ballhandler has been allowed in nearly every game I’ve watched this year.

I don’t like it, but that’s how it’s been called.

I’ve only seen one other game where the refs blatantly ignored the “two-hand” guarding rule. Here’s the deal, Hawkins couldn’t be contained with normal bumping and hand-checking. Made quite a difference with Wittekind as well. Other players not so much.
I just hate it when refs decide how they prefer to call a game
as opposed to doing their best to call it straight up according to the rules.

— Not suggesting the outcome would have been different
and nobody likes to hear complaints. This was a much more competitive game than the final shows.

— Warren is tough. I expect a double-digit win against Miami Trace and maybe a final four for the Warriors.

Right, if you can’t hand check 00 he scores 35 plus to. It goes both ways obviously. Marietta this to be physical as well don’t get it twisted so they effect Julian. Warren found a way to win but Marietta had one way to score all night, iso backdown into the paint. Once Warren adjusted and didn’t get beat by the dribble drive it was all but over Marietta never adjusted imo.

It was a 17 point game after 3 and was under 10 for like one-two possessions in the whole fourth quarter.

It wasn’t close either.

Not true, but what’s the difference how long it was close for in the 4th quarter? Tigers had to continuously take chances and foul which was the reason the margin expanded down the stretch, and Hawkins fouled out with over 4 minutes to go.
