Rock Hill 61 Gallipolis 44

Ironton Rock Hill erased 10-point second and nine-point third period deficits by outscoring host Gallipolis 27-9 in the final stanza to defeat the Blue Devils, 61-44.

Rock Hill improves to 3-5 on the year. Gallipolis, in losing its fifth straight, dropped to 2-5.

Rock Hill sank 21 of 28 free throws and was 17 of 20 in the final eight minutes.

Matt Matney led the Redmen with 23 points, including 10 of 12 at the foul line. Nate Davenport and Aaron Butler tallied 14 apiece for the visitors.

David Rumley led GAHS wigh 16 points. Chris McCoy added 11 and Kyle Mitchell 10 for the Gallians.

Gallipolis will host River Valley Thursday at the University of Rio Grande. Rock Hill plays at South Gallia on Dec.28.

Gallipolis won the reserve game, 43-40 to improve to 6-1. Rock Hill's JVs dropped to 6-2 on the year.

Mullens had 34 points and 19 boards for CW. Nelson added 16.
Congrove had 21 for LE and Adam Blake had 19.

The game was 33-26 Canal at half. LE had it down to 12 in the fourth quarter but they weren't hitting much tonight and CW is just way too good if you aren't hitting. They have three legit D1 players.

If they ever play Chillicothe, that would be a game I'd pay to see.

LE is 4-3 and 4-1 in the MSL. CW is 7-0 and 5-0.

Belpre beat River Valley 80-70. Scott Loyland and Markie Tate combined for 45 points at Chesire Sat night. Loyland had 23 points and 11 boards. Tate added 22 and 8 assist. Reggies Sims chipped in with 17.

The Dragons wore down West Union in the second half. Big 18-0 run to start the 3rd quarter was the difference. Coach Belville played A LOT of guys early and it paid off big time in the 2nd half.
