P-Floyd the Nelsonville-York Buckeyes record is 6-5. Thanks for your hard work. My favorite topic to read each week.

I look for my Redstreaks to climb back into the top 8......they appear to be figuring out a few things and the bench is picking up some slack. Key game at Zanesville this week.

It seems that every year the TVC has a powerhouse team that never goes very far come tourney time.

Chillicothe has been playing all season without Landon Beverly who should suit up for the first time this week as well.

Still over looking South Point?? Im sure thats fine with them..every time they play theyll remember that pfloyd still doesnt have them in the elite 8 and theyll look to prove you wrong so be ready to see the pointers play some really great basketball the next couple of weeks...hopefully you are planning to attend the game next week against Zane Trace...but all these posts dont mean anything..theyre just here to start conversations, the tournament is what really matters..how great would it be to see South Point play peebles at the convo on a nuetral court with nuetral refs??? That would be an amazing game to watch

Peebles tends to play there best games on larger courts. It gives them more room to run their up-tempo game. I wouldnt be suprised if this matchup takes place. Both teams are playing extremely well and could both make deep runs. :122245 The SHL has a league assign. for all their refs, so if anything you could make the arguement that the officiating was neutral anyway.

I'll second moving Washington Court House higher in the wannabes. I've seen them and they got some kids who can shoot the rock.

I would need to see their schedule before I would make a statement. Does anyone have WCH schedule?

Thanks Pfloyd for the vote of confidence you have in Athens by moving them up to spot 5! The Bulldogs play at Wellston on Tues and then play Vinton at home Friday. Should be some good bball for the dawgs and company this week.

Go Bulldogs.

When Portsmouth gets the starting 5 of Tre Underwood, Dion McKinley, Tory Horne, Forrest Johnson, and Wayne Evans on the court at the same time, I like our chances against anybody on our schedule......we have seen that lineup only once this season......at Logan, which was Tory and Dion's first game of the season.......the Trojans won 88-78.......since Portsmouth's 0-2 start the first week of the season, we have lost 3 games by a total of 11 points......to 10-2 Ironton, 10-3 Warren, and 7-5 Chillicothe.

Tre Underwood missed the Ironton and Warren games, which the Trojans lost by a total of 8 points.........if Tre plays those games, I definitely felt we would have won both......Tre in my opinion is the team MVP.......14 points and 10 rebounds a game.......in addition to being the spiritual leader.

The chemistry is still developing at Portsmouth.......we have had more significant personnel changes than probably anybody in the SE District.

Portsmouth will be a force to be reckoned with imo. Tre woulda played against Ironton if at all possible but wasn't cleared to play. He probably coulda played against Warren yet in the best interest of his own personal health down the stretch run, did not. He'll make a return visit to the doctor today and hopefully return to the court against Jackson on Friday.

I said on last weeks elite 8 that I didn't think Portsmouth earned a spot in the top eight. Now after 2 straight losses I know we don't belong. At least not in terms of what we've produced on the court. On paper we're nice but I don't want to be paper champs. Let us knock Ironton at our place and finish off the year with no more than 2 more losses then I think we'll make some noise in the tourney.

Pfloyd, here is the rest of Leesburg-Fairfield's schedule. I think you should bring the Pfloyd tour to watch them play.
One that you might come watch is one of the two games they have against Peebles. They have had a nasty, brutal, bloody(literally) rivalry the last two years.
1/29/10 7:30 PM vs. Manchester (Manchester, OH)
2/02/10 7:30 PM vs. Peebles (Peebles, OH)
2/05/10 6:00 PM @ West Union (West Union, OH)
2/06/10 7:30 PM vs. Paint Valley (Bainbridge, OH)
2/09/10 7:30 PM @ Whiteoak (Mowrystown, OH)
2/12/10 7:30 PM vs. Eastern (Sardinia, OH)
2/13/10 7:30 PM @ Adena (Frankfort, OH)
2/19/10 7:30 PM @ Peebles (Peebles, OH)

Washington C.H. non-conference schedule is not very good. This schedule will definitely help them get a high seed in the sectional.

Their conference schedule doesn't look that hard either.

I see Oak Hill is moving on up. Norm is rounding them into shape and at the right time. Getting Cannon back is helping as it gives them another big in the middle. Ondera is still the best pg I've seen play this year.

Pfloyd share some love for Waverly. We've been beaten by #1 and #4 Oak Hill, that one by only two points, @ OH. Our third loss came from once beaten South Webster without our best player. Top to bottom the SOC 2 has to be one of the most competitive leagues along with the SEOAL.

By the way Waverly is 9-3, at Wheelersburg Tuesday.

Pfloyd- You do a terrific job on the Elite 8 and I enjoy reading the rankings every week.

My questioning on your rankings though is about Chillicothe. Who have they beaten? I know they've lost to quality opponents, but SOS comes into play better when you beat quality opponents moreso than the beat weaker opponents and lose to stronger opponents. I can't find an updated schedule so I'd be much obliged.
