How interesting would it be:

Athens, Warren and Logan Elm all fight and squabble for that coveted No. 1 seed - then have Sheridan come along as the 4 and knock the 1 out ... lol

...93dog, did you duck in time ??? (I'm guessing that there were at least 3 dry erase board erasers that were thrown in your general directions from Athens/Warren and Logan Elm all at the same time as Coach Skinner, Coach Maddox and Coach Stiverson read that post LOL )

Reading some of the stuff on here makes me think Warren beats DeSales by 30 (since they only beat lowly WCH of the Southeasten Sectional by a point)

;-)
DeSales is not very good this year anyways.

DeSales is something like 3 or 4 and 6 on the season BUT they only lost to an 8-1 Bishop Watterson team by 5 points 49-54 this past Friday ... Watterson being the reigning D2 State champ ...

4-6 with a monster schedule and it appears that they have been in nearly every game.

Logan Elm now 8th in the DII state AP poll ... Athens receives votes as well ... http://www.lancastereaglegazette.com/ar ... ck_check=1

Zane Trace 5th in D3 ... Valley and Oak Hill received votes.

Peebles 6th in DIV.

(Wow, Peebles in DIV now huh? had they been IV the last 3 or 4 years they may have made it to the state tournament.

:) Don't remind me. Every year we were just a handful of boys from the D4 line and I feel we had more talent 2009-12 than those Manchester teams that came up just short of a trip to the Schott 3 straight seasons.

Input from an old SOC junkie..

Notre Dame is clearly not better than Wheelersburg. Don't put too much into ND's record, Wheelersburg has way better wins and more respectable losses and it's not even debatable.

At this point, surprisingly, I'm not sure Portsmouth isn't 2nd or 3rd best team in SE Ohio. I knew they would be improved, but I am very impressed that they are THIS good. Took Peebles to the woodshed tonight!

Northwest is ahead of South Webster yet SW has more wins AND beat Northwest. Don't put too much into their record, they started the season without 3 starters and are coming around (gave Oak Hill every thing they wanted and more AT Oak Hill tonight 52-48).

Valley still has the most TALENT of any team in the county and league. They just need to put 4 solid quarters together against a highly touted opponent. Against Minford was maybe the only game they've done that thus far.

Symmes Valley got a nice road win versus a very good Portsmouth Clay team.

Just looked up on the website above and they just posted the schedule for the Route 40 classic. It has Warren playing Sunday night versus Hartley instead of DeSales.

Wheelersburg has won 5 in a row, including avenging their season opening loss by defeating West handily last night. Burg travels to Valley this Friday for a big matchup.

Going to be another big test for the Warriors! If they win out, I think they are the 1 seed at Logan. I don't think they will, but if they survive Hartley, Athens, FCA, and a trip to Portsmouth in the next couple weeks, then they'll deserve it, IMO.

Logan sectional has 3 best teams but I believe Minford and Courthouse have talent to compete with those teams. Have not seen Unioto or Circleville but sounds like they have solid ballclubs also. I think Athens has the best chance to make a Final 4 run in D2

Not sure anyone has a real good chance at making a run to the Final Four in D2 with Watterson coming down.

I haven't seen Athens yet, but have seen Logan Elm, Warren, Washington CH, and Minford. I also saw Unioto and Miami Trace in Portsmouth scrimmages. Minford has the talent that's good enough to beat any of the aforementioned SE teams. I would love to see former Trojan coach Josh Shoemaker make a run in the tourney. The Falcons will be a tough out for anybody they face.
