Ozzie, on the SHL website you have to look at the far left and see if there is a B or a G. The 64-53 score if for the girls contest. I find myself having to look closely too because it is a little confusing with all the games on that page.

Alexander loses at home to Vinton County ... as coop just posted Wheelersburg picks up the L courtesy of Lucasville Valley ... Coach Maddox's Warren Warriors weren't the best of hosts to Chillicothe as Warren beats #1 Chillicothe by one ... Piketon lost earlier in the week Huntington ... hmmmmm who did North Adams play tonight? or did they play? will they move into the #1 spot this weekend? ...

North Adams is @ Whiteoak

Whiteoak has played Adena, Hillsboro, Peebles and Manchester all very closely

WO shocked NA @ NA last season.

NA is the only undefeated team in the entire 70 team SE District .

They have good big guys, good guards, great experience, one of the very elite players in the district and one of the best coaches in the district.....IF they win tonight by any margin.....they have to be the #1 team next week......but go ahead and put your boy Logan Elm there. lol

North Adams 58
Whiteoak 43

This should be the first ever #1 ranking for a SHL team in the Pfloyd Elite 8.

We'll never know.....but I do love you having nothing of merit to base it on.

How are Amann and Hauserman doing? Where did they play basketball last season?

Piketon rebounded tonight with a strong, impressive win to regain the lead in the SVC versus Westfall Mustangs. This game was in front of a standing room only crowd at Westfall. The one whole side was filled with Piketon faithful...very encouraging and impressive for the streaks! After a 19-13 lead to start for Westfall, Piketon went on a 19-4 run to blow the game open, during which Piketon's Cody Smith scored his 1000th point. It never was close again. Piketon dominated the boards (Southworth 17, Brabson 11, Brush & Smith 6 each), and Evan Legg once again showed he is the best PG in the SVC. The defense tonight was incredible. Gibson held to 4 pts for the game. Westfall had 23 points total half way through the 3rd quarter. Piketon had several blocked shots tonight...Tuesday night was a hiccup, but they regained the form from last week, and was very impressive tonight. This puts Piketon tied at the top with Westfall for the SVC league lead (although Piketon has beaten Westfall head to head twice). They are now 12-2; next game next Friday night at home versus Paint Valley.

PIKETON: 64 (12-2, 8-2)
WESTFALL: 46

PIKETON STATS:
Cody Smith 18 pts, 6 rebs (scores 1000th point)
Jordan Brabson 18 pts, 11 rebs, 2 blocks ...another double-double
Evan Legg 13 pts, 5 assts, 4 steals
Caleb Southworth 6pts, 17 REBOUNDS, 3 blocks
Keenan Brush 4pts, 5 Rebs, 6 blocks

Westfall:
Gibson finished with 4 pts

FU rebounded from a HORRIBLE loss earlier in the weak to roundtown, by beating Teays Valley.

Le is the best team in the district, regardless of division.
who cares where the kids played last year...
VC had a transfer last year, not sure if hes still there or not.
Chilli has transfers......
it goes with winning....you win and kids want to play at your school.

I am an FU fan and i dont care that they moved in. Thats the way it works. NONE of us would complain if it was happening for us, so no reason to get that topic even going.

ohioguru,

Been following your site since this summer you have a good insight on high school basketball. Also thanks for the records of the teams from the east. In your opinion who will make it to the regionals from the east. I would guess Dover has to be one of the front runners.

Logan Elm with a business-like performance...59-49 win over the Bulldogs of Bloom-Carroll. Amann 23, Congrove 14, Holbrook and Hauserman nine each for the Braves.

LE is now 10-1 and hosts Westfall this afternoon.

Circleville fell on a last second OT basket, 61-59, to Hamilton Township. Cydrus had 24 to lead the 1-9 Tigers.

Tigers host Bloom-Carroll Tuesday.

Fairfield Union got 21 from Feasel and 20 by McGlone in their 63-56 win over the Vikings of Teays Valley.

VC did not have a transfer last year it was 2 years ago and it was more of a trade than a transfer. We got a guard from Wellston and they got an equally talented guard from us. VC with the exception of 2 years ago wins 100% on home grown talent.

Aren't they D1 and the only high school in the county :?: That's a nice talent pool to draw from. ;-)

Sombody awhile back brought up the question "Are the elite 8 rankings based on team records or the best 8 teams regardless of record". Based on records North Adams should probably be due to take #1 pretty soon but they are not the best team in the southeast district right now. Some of the big schools (div 1/2) would beat them half the time. If North Adams played in the Chillicothe league they would have lost 3-4 games by now possibly. Logan Elm would beat them at least half the time and so would a few other teams. Taking nothing away from NA - they are tough as nails but you have to be realistic sometimes.

If LE would beat them 1/2 of the time then why would NA not be #1?

If it's a done deal that LE is the best team in the district.....then Pfloyd just needs to quit putting up a new rankings every Sunday.

Pfloyd put Piketon a top with LE....don't tell me NA isn't as deserving as Piketon was last week.

I'm not sold on Logan Elm being the top team in the district. They are in a group of 3-4 teams all divisions at the moment.

An update from the Northwest....

Logan Elm 72
Westfall 56

Mustangs play much better than they did against Piketon but not good enough. Logan Elm pulls away at the end of the third quarter for a comfortable win.

Brandon Amann 29 points...Tim Congrove 19 points/seven rebounds and breaks the career three-point basket mark previously held by Tyler Evans...Logan Hauserman 11 points...Adam Blake 10 points/10 rebounds for Logan Elm.

Bryant Gibson 21 points...Tyler Cobb 15 points...Tyler Kritsch eight points and nine rebounds for Westfall.

LE 11-1 @ Hamilton Township Tuesday, @ Teays Valley Saturday
WF 11-5 @ Huntington Friday.
