Valley beat South Webster last night 76-61. Valley finally put it all together last night. They improve to 7-2.

Valley has wins over Washington CH (9-2), South Point (7-3), and South Webster (6-1).
All of whom are ranked ahead of them. Not saying they shouldnt be.

Their two losses were to Waverly and Oak Hill.

I wonder where Vinton County would be if they would be more consistant with their freethrows.

Main Man...Huntington was in foul trouble, but don't forget, Piketon was in foul trouble, too....they simply made a couple runs that got them over the top, and the defensive pressure forced TO's late... Piketon put 48 points up in the second half.

Piketon (8-4) gets back on the "W" column and showed a lot of fight against the scrappy Huntington team. This was a big win for the Streaks and there is no quit in this team! Been a lot of adversity lately, but they are staying focused. No doubt it makes us better for tourney time. Comes down to "Basketball 101".

Huntington played tough most of the game and continued to show why this rivalry is more than a typical league game. Congrats to the Huntington players for battling, as well.

Napkin stats for Piketon
Legg 24 pts, 4 assts, 3 steals
Brush 17 pts, 10 rebs, 3 blocks
Vulgamore 10pts
Lewis 8 pts

Next up is Westfall Friday night at Piketon. Hope to continue building for the tourney! Go STREAKS!

Eastern Pike moves to 8-2 with a solid win this week over Green 67-43 and a loss to Charleston Catholic (#2 ranked in WV) 58-50.

D4 sectional at Wellston will be very interesting with E.Reedsville, Eastern Pike, Southen, and Symmes Valley. Only 2 of those schools can make the Convo!

True, but I still wonder when a team losses 2 games by a combined total of 3 points and their freethrow pct. is suspect on a good day.

The dragons whipped up on one of those foreign tams from WV. the Wayne pioneers by 25 or so. Chad Fisher and Jon Baise led the dragons to victory. Next is Huntington St. Joe Friday in the Championship of the St. Joe Invitational.

Hope the Trojans bounce back strong with Warren coming to town. A very telling stat for me from the Ironton game. Tory had 27 and FOJO only added 7.Ive always thought FOJO is the catalyst for this team when he is playing on all cylenders the Trojans seem to play much better. Did Tory really miss a dunk that could have gotton the Trojans within two? If so...OUCH

Let'sGoPSU: Not having Tre Underwood for the Ironton game was HUGE.......he just came off a 19 point game vs. Logan with a bunch of rebounds.......if he played, I think we would have won that game......remember, Dion and Tory have just joined the team......the chemistry is still developing.......for the first time all season vs. Warren.......the Trojans will field their strongest starting 5.......Tre, Dion, Tory, Forrest, and Wayne.

One thing that is a constant about Coach Lafon's Ironton Fighting Tigers......they always bring it on the defensive end.......they did a good job of defending Forrest......but FJ has had a very good season for us, averaging 17 PPG......
