The unfortunate thing about Hamilton is they trail off at some point in the season. They either play a good first 10, bad last 10 games or the latter. It is a good nucleus but once Hammy hits a skid, they usually stay in it.

Made a special visit last night to Chillicothe High School for the Southeastern Ohio Athletic League championship between the Zanesville Blue Devils and the Chillicothe Cavaliers.

Zanesville 18 11 15 24 68
Chillicothe 13 15 16 19 63

Zanesville shoots 26 for 50 and Chillicothe was 23 of 59. 52 percent shooting against 39 percent. Rebounding was 33-31 in favor of the Blue Devils.

Zanesville put together a 14-2 fourth quarter run to get its first 'W' against Chillicothe in the SEOAL championship series.

Very impressive and balance scoring sheet for the 18-2 Blue Devils.

Logan Aronhalt made some clutch shots and free throws down the stretch and led ZHS with 22 points, while adding nine rebounds. Andre Harris hit 9 of 12 shots and had 21 points. Joe Prati had a solid 14 points and nine boards. Cedric Harris had 11 points and 10 assists. This is a team with a lot of good options. A good formula for the tournament.

Chillicothe was led by Humpty Hitchens scoring 34 points. Humpty shot 12 for 23 and had 15 of the Cavaliers 19 fourth period points.

Stu Beverly had 10 points and seven boards and Seth Dawes had eight points and eight boards.

18-2 Chillicothe couldn't get consistent scoring from anyone but Humpty and a few buckets from Beverly and Dawes. Off nights do happen, even to excellent teams like the Cavaliers.

The SVC went 22-26 against non-league opponents this winter. Hopefully that does not carry over to the tournament.
