... the committee of one - me - hope that all fans, teams, coaches, AND seopsters enjoyed the holidays ... the committee of one - me - also hopes that you are strapped in tight as we head down the 2010 portion of the Road to the Convo ... should be a wild ride heading for the season of "survive and advance" ... not going to babble, going to take you right to the rankings ...

... Pfloyd's Elite 8 of Southern/Southeastern Ohio Week #5...

1. Logan Elm (6-0) ... the Braves will be on the road this week - at Hamilton Twp, and at Westfall ... anything can happen when you travel in the MSL but we look for Coach Stiverson's troops to come out the other end of the Week that IS at 8-0 ...

2. Peebles (6-0) ... PHS has 3 games on the menu for the Week that IS - vs 2-4 Fayetteville, BIG game of undefeateds as Peebles entertains 6-0 Eastern Brown, before rounding out the week on the road @ Green ...

3. Waverly (5-1) ... the Tigers will be @ Minford, closeout the week vs Portsmouth West at home ...

4. Piketon (6-3) ... the Streaks look to rebound from the loss at Waverly by traveling to Southeastern Ross for their only game of the week ...

5. Eastern Brown (6-0) ... BIG week for EB as they will need to be "road warriors" traveling to Hillsboro and Peebles in the Week that IS ...

6. Ironton (6-2) ... the I'town boyz will be on the road taking on Gallia Academy in their new facility before returning home to play host to the Purple from Logan ...

7. Warren (5-2) ... interesting week for the Warriors - the good news they play both games this week in the Warrior Dome , the bad news they will put their Elite 8 ranking on the line vs the upstart Jackson Ironmen (4-2) followed by the 3-2 Chillicothe Cavaliers ... after losing 2 leagues games the Blue from Barlow is once again in "must win" mode one more time for both games ... no pressure lol ...

8. Chillicothe (3-2) ... the Cavs maintain a hold on the 8 spot but will put it all on the line with 2 BIG road games - taking on (4-2) Portsmouth winners of 4 in a row and finishing the week at (5-2) Warren ...

... Athens (6-1) ... the Bulldogs make their first appearance on the Elite 8 list EVER by knocking off Reedsville Eastern for the holidays after beating Vinton County in McArthur in Week #4 ... the dawgs put their 6-1 record on the line Friday night vs rival Nelsonville York for their only game of the week ...

... there was some MAJOR discussion within the committee as to the "lineup" beginning with numbers 8 - Chilli and Athens , add in Portsmouth and Jackson ... all 4 teams had their "lobbyists" working overtime , the committee of one was struggling , there are scars that will last the rest of the season imo ...

This is a pretty good list. The Peebles and Eastern Brown game should be one for the ages as either team could come away win the W and a potential 8-0 record. :-D

I don't like Piketon being THAT high still with 3 losses...but I understand your thinking. IMO your best top to bottom rankings ever.

I'm not sure time will sort out who is better between Warren, Athens, Jackson, Chilly and Portsmouth......I think Athens will win most games in the TVC.....maybe losing a couple while Portsmouth, Chilly, Jackson and Warren will all knock each other off.....maybe one of those teams jumps out and just wins nearly everything (Chilly would be that guess)....but right now I don't see it.

Jackson, Athens, VC, and Warren all appear to be pretty good teams...and all will try to avoid Logan Elm in the sectional.....one of them won't be so fortunate.

After looking at the Southeastern sectional its going to be a very tough draw for one of the top tier teams to have to take on Hillsboro after the way their season started at 0-5. Some very quality teams in that sectional.

Agree, I see 6 of the 9 teams being pretty steady at the Southeastern sectional, making for some interesting sectional semifinal matches. On paper, most of the games at Logan appear to be easier at the semifinal level.

I like how my Trojans are ranked ahead of an undefeated south webster team that beat Portsmouth at Portsmouth. I actually like being under the radar, at least for now. I think if we played them(South Webster) now we'd beat them so i get your logic. But with those losses to South Webster and the stinker at South Point, I'd rather be further down the list so we can move up more dramatically. At this rate people will notice us moving on up like the Jeffersons.

I think my Cavs are still a ways off the top 8.....this week will tell how good they really are with 2 HUGE ROAD games. Yeah Ironman unless a team steps up and runs away with the league the SEOAL will be a mess come the end of the season..

Leesburg Fairfield is 4-4, other than that the list is great. Look foreward to watching the Eastern Brown and Peebles game.
