Looks good PFloyd....

I have Coal Grove 12-3 and South Point 7-8. I know how hard you work on trying to keep your records straight so, hopefully these 2 threads can help you out....

Who is this Sheridan (8-4) squad? are they in the southeast district? are you sure they're an Ohio team, Floyd? did you check to see if they indeed had a 'Convo pass' to qualify for the Elite 8?

lol

I slept on the Generals last year and they ended up making the Convo out of the Logan sectional ... seems I'm doing it again as I have had Warren, Athens, Vinton County and Logan Elm penciled in since December.

I have Piketon and EB switched....and a couple others but my list would look very similar at least thru the top 20.

Not sure how you came up with Piketon over EB, I92?

I put Piketon on the same level as Vinton County, who beat the Red Steaks on a neutral floor. When Logan Elm played Vinton they beat the Vikings 51-42 on a neutral floor at the Zane Trace Classic. The Eastern Brown team I watched down at the Beasts of the Southeast handled Logan Elm fairly easilly. Eastern Brown has a better record. I know its only 1 game better but when your talking about rankings, especially the top 5 teams, one game is a big deal.

But by that logic Paint Valley beat Vinton and Piketon crushed Paint Valley . I think you have go with what have you done lately . And lately Piketon has hit there groove .

The Vinton County/Piketon game was only 15 days ago ...

How about another comparison:

Eastern Brown 60
Westfall - 40

Piketon - 50
Westfall - 46

I'M NOT SAYING EASTERN BROWN IS A BETTER TEAM THAN PIKETON, I'M JUST SAYING FOR 'RANKING' PURPOSES, I CAN SEE WHY FLOYD WOULD HAVE EB AHEAD OF THE RED STREAKS.

* and lets face it - we're talking about who should be 4 - and who should be 5 ... lol ... kind of a ridiculus debate. I can name 40 or 50 other teams who would love to be in that argument.

Quality wins?

Piketon is rolling.

Do you have Warren over Ironton?

No sir I did not . I was really torn on that pick Warren is freaking awsome I think they are a tie if there is such a thing. Maybe I'm giveing Ironton to much credit cause I have watched them play and haven't got to a Warren game. I truely think teams should be very afraid of Athens that have some young kids that nerves won't effect cause there to young to realize how big a moment is they just go play and are relaxed instead of tense .

There is nothing to compare with Ironton and Warren ...

and how do you factor in losses to Division I Florida teams for Ironton ... they are undefeated in the state of Ohio.

Ironton has 2 losses yes and only one of them was by a lopsided score.
Irontons closest game was prob. Portsmouth and that was at Portsmouth and a rivalery game to boot.
Ironton seems to be the real deal with a few players playing better ater getting in to basketball shape from playing football.
I think lastnight Against Centenial Ironton showed it could be a force when the playoffs come.
The schedule they are playing is just insane but seems to be one that is working for them.

If you compare strength of schedule and who they've played as a whole, I would have to argue that Washington CH deserves to be ranked above Eastern Brown. I have had the opportunity to watch them both play at least 3 times, and in my opinion I think WCH is overall better. I know they are a bigger school, but their strength of schedule has also been more difficult. EB has some impressive wins no doubt, and definitely deserving of a top 8 ranking, but they also have amassed a good portion of their wins against teams having very down years like Blanchester (0-15), West Union, Lynchburg, Manchester, and then last night, St. Patricks?? But still pretty accurate list PFLOYD, i enjoy following it :)!!

So you are saying Ironton is clearly the top team?

Eastern Brown....solid/quality wins

Logan Elm (neutral +10)
@ Whiteoak +7
@Fairfield +11
Georgetown +7
Western Brown (D1)+3
Peebles +13
@North Adams (+22)

They've done better than I thought....those are 7 very solid wins

I don't think Ironton is a 'clear cut' #1 ... but I'll keep them at #1 until they lose to an Ohio team - or even a West Virginia, kentucky team.
Like I said before, its tough with Ironton/Warren because there isn't much on the schedules to campare the two ... I thought there was at least a few things to warrant an EB ranking over Piketon.

What's so special about Florida? Ohio HS basketball is 2nd to none.
As far as comparisons what about

Ironton 53 Portsmouth 51

Warren Local 45 Portsmouth 31

Looks like a good place to start. With that being said I think Ironton and Warren are pretty even and if they played 10 times it'd be 50/50. Both solid defensively and both with multiple scores. French and Carter both special players and both teams are well coached. Like I said EVEN. It is fun to speculate though.

One of the teams Ironton played from Miami had an enrolement of 3,088 students (grades 9-12) ... that could be considered 'special' seeing as I don't know of any Ohio school with over 3,000 students ... :)

You didn't see the Florida teams so how do you know. Both of the teams we lost to had over 3,000 kids in their schools. And the one we beat may have had that many but I do know that they had over 2,000. I don't know of a school in Ohio that has over 3,000 kids in it. And here we were little ol Ironton with 400+ kids in our whole school. Heck one of their classes was bigger than our whole school.
