Piketon drops a heart breaker at home last night to Adena. Great overall game and exciting game between these 2 teams. Piketon had their chances to win, Adena had their chances to pull away and neither could. Congratulations to the Warriors and keep your head up Streaks!

An interesting thing to note to this weekends line-up of games. Unioto can tie the all-time SVC win streak record for girls basketball at 28 straight with a win @ Paint Valley. Unioto's last loss was @ Huntington on a last second shot about two years ago. Unioto ended up winning their final 9 SVC games that year.

The record is held by the PV girls.

the adena and piketon game was a great game to watch.the warrior girls like to slow the game down and run a smart offense while the piketon girls try to speed it up. the adena girls were strong and able to pull this one out. the streaks had a lot of silly mistakes and turnovers that could have saved them the game.but....if you were at the game you would have clearly seen that the streaks got robbed in the end of the game, with numerous calls on the streaks.when they called southworth over the line on the 1-1 bonus and foot never moved.and the ref made a mistake and blew the whistle and called a foul on no one and that took 5 seconds off the clock and adena got the ball back..word on the street is piketon got screwed at home. but there are no excuses. like eagles said, adena had a lot of chances to pull away and piketon had many chances to take it from them..both teams played a great game. good job ladies.

I stand corrected...maybe. I guess the record might actually be held by the Westfall girls from sometime in the 80's. If that is correct, the actual record might be 38 straight wins.

Thebluenote: We are still trying to get the streaks straight. Westfall did have 38 but we are not sure of when it started and when it ended. SVCsportszone also thinks PV's streak is more than 28. We think they won their last seven games in 1995, but we are still trying to confirm this. No matter what the record is I would say this Unioto team can reach it. They will be favored in all games this year and will be big favorites in all but about three of those.

As for SVC action tonight, nice wins for Adena, PV, and Piketon..below is a link to the games

An interesting week ahead.
Unioto plays Piketon on Thursday.
Then on Sat. we get a matchup of the two current league leaders when Unioto hosts Adena.

Surely after this next week the SVC picture will become a little clearer.

U N I O T O. I believe will once again go un-defeated this year. And hopefully they'll decide to step up and actually win districts this year. Stay healthy.. and I think it'll come quite easy.

While I agree that they will win the league, it will not be easy. They very well could have lost to ZT at home earlier in the year. Saturday's game at home vs Adena should be a good one - noon start - be there.
