Falconburger, Do you mean the jv coach,or a coach farther down like jr high? No need to name names, just curious as to what you meant.

What I meant was that sometimes, you have to hire someone new or outside the box, to get the committment any program needs. Someone with a fresh outlook and willing to hang there and understand that you have to win with what you got and use the talent that you have to the best of their abilities.. Dont run a system that doesn't fit your players, adjust and adapt..Sometimes coaches that have been around awhile forget that part, not all players can run any system...Not slighting anyone..

Falconburger,

Good post! I agree that coaches need to adjust to the talent they have at the time. You can't come into a coaching job and say that you are going to run this kind of offense and that kind of defense without knowing what kind of talent or style of players you have. College coaches can do this (or private school coaches  ) because they can recruit the type of player that fits their system. High School coaches don't have that luxary (well most don't  ).

Great hire for the Lady Trojans Tyson willbe a good coach for them . He will get them going in the right direction it may take a few years but you will see alot improvement with this ball club ..I have been on his staff at Notre Dame Portsmouth West he knows his stuff i hope everyone in P-town will give him and his staff time to work with the girls and you will see a good product on floor for years to come. he as already started open gym's and i believe there is going to be a summer leauge at Portsmouth this summer that he is heading up both for Varsity and Jr. high.
