When the Lady Vikes learn to play all four quarters and not just three, then they will experience some success. They have done that all year long even in the close wins. They played very well the first half and not to bad in the fourth, but gave up the third quarter, getting outscored 20-6. Not sure the Lady Vikes run out of steam, only have 10 on the roster and only 7 usually play the whole game so the bench is not a deep one. Remember, some of these Lady Vikes would be playing JV not varsity if they had both teams. They are still making adjustments like most young teams do, they will be fine, just have to be patient and allow this group to gel. Good luck Lady Vikes!

akwhitewater, this thread is about the Symmes Valley Lady Vikings. I think you are wanting info about the Vinton County Lady Vikings? Just thought I would help you out. We don't play Alexander.

Lady Vikings 38 Rock Hill 35

Lady Vikes go to 4-4 overall tonight with a win over the Lady Redwomen. Both teams shot poorly from the field and the line but both teams hustled all night long! This game could have gone either way in a low scoring contest. SV finally put four quarters of basketball together tonight to hold on to the win. Good luck to both the Lady Vikes and the Redwomen on the rest of their seasons. Jessie Morris, SV senior point guard went down with a knee injury during the third quarter tonight, hopefully Jessie can recover and be back in action soon. SV is hoping for a speedy recovery, Miss Morris! Go Lady Vikes!

Lady Vikings did a great job of playing together after losing Morris. Kayla Hayes done a outstanding job of bringing the ball down the court and taking control of the team the 3rd and 4th quarters. Freshman ladies also settled down some during this time and made some key shots and passes. Hope Morris gets back soon but we now know Hayes can also lead the team if called upon and those freshman ladies can play when they want to.
RockHill Ladies are a much improved team! Good job Alvin. I really thought you had us at the end.

After looking at the stats from the western game how can you keep Johnson out of the starting lineup any longer! 13 points, 12 rebounds. Balanced scoring from the team. Way to go girls.

Wish I was there.

Yes, Johnson did have a good game but one good game dosen't mean she should be moved to the starting lineup..

Way to many turnovers last night in the lost to ND. We are a better team than what showed up at ND. Lets go Lady Vikes. Hang in there.

tagyourit, just a rumor. Coach Bryant wants to work on her master's degree and will work around her basketball schedule to do both. Good luck to coach Bryant and her Lady Vikings. Their future looks very bright!

As a parent of a future player it seems the "future has been bright" following several mediocre seasons. With the talent that has gone through over the past 10 years it seems a conference championship or a sectional championship could have been attained, and correct me if I'm wrong but I don't think either has been accomplished?

the ladies lost 0 starters but, a good point guard in Sara Kingsbury off the bench and a deep three ball shooter in Donyell Castor. The ladies starters this season was: Megan Dixon(Freshman), Miranda Hale (Freshman), Caitlyn Owengs (Sophomore), Kelsey Griffith (Junior) and Keshia Griffith (Junior).

Important notes off the bench...Xan Hale (Freshman), Sara Kingsbury (Senior), Josie Ward (Junior) and Kim Kazee (Junior).

The Vikings have an extremly young team and return their starters for next year and will have 5 Seniors graduate next season. If the ladies learn to play together and improve their defense how can you deny them a T.V.C. title run within the next few years?

Not sure about all the "talent" that has come throught SV in the past ten years. Coach Bryant gets the best out of what she gets. SV has been a softball school for years with a lot of emphasize on that program. (Not Complaining). But both volleyball and basketball have struggled in the past with the lack of committment for either one. Coach Bryant runs a good program just ask any former player who has played for her. Not many if any sectionals or league championships were won before coach Bryant took over the program. She had mostly freshmen and sophomores this year with the exception of Humphrey and Morris who went down with a knee injury early in the year. Most of if not all of those players should have been JV players, with the exception of Morris. They had to compete with more experienced teams this season and got a lot of quality experience for next year.
