Jackson vs Washington CH....Sectional Final

Post by Ironman92 »

Jackson on a mission.

Avoid silly fouls and stay available better for your coach and wipe out the 5-17 free throw shooting.

Respect every opponent.....let's go!

Pretty good showing by Jackson, especially early as their defensive intensity and pressure was excellent. WCH had to work hard to score.

Jackson was led by Madison Ridout who scored a game high 23 points, tallied 9 rebounds and had 5 or so steals.....and played excellent defense. Lydia Poe did her share knocking in 16 points and had 6 rebounds. The team player of the game was easily Kerrigan Hoover as she guarded their top player and just bothered her most all of the game. Hoover had 3 points. Kacee Jenkins scored 5 points on 2/2 shooting to go with 4 reb, Whitney Wills had 4 points and 3 assists, Annie Speakman drilled a 3 to start the game and had 3 assists. Sam Humphreys chipped in 2 points and Lauren Parks gave several good minutes of excellent defense.

Jackson improved their 5-17 free throw shooting a good bit by going 12-17. The only problem I saw was in the 4th quarter as there were too many careless turnovers and not all of them were closing out on defense. Multiple times WCH worked the ball around and get an open look without anyone getting out with a hand up to challenge...then go down and try to get it to Poe before she was really open. Poe did a good job at saving a few turnovers from happening with some great catches.

Another great showing in the stands by Ironlady super fan Linda Walburn. She's one proud and great momma.

More nets to cut down.

This game puts Madison Ridout right around 1300 career points.

Obviously she's quite a bit behind Beth Howe, but where does that put her on the overall list?
