SVC

The conference was mighty strong in volleyball, with several very good teams. How do you see things shaking out on the basketball court?

I Don't see Three District champions in the Basketball League like Volleyball had.

Unioto should be the favorite

Westfall and Piketon will be top contenders as well

Expect to see a drop in Adena, new coach and lost a lot to graduation.

Last I heard Carl is not going to play for Trace this season.

Southeastern is a year away from moving into the contenders category.

Huntington could surprise a few but is still gonna be young.

Don't know what to think about Paint Valley, they have some nice size
And athletic players. If it comes together for them they could find themselves up near the top.

I predict
Unioto
Westfall
Piketon
Paint Valley
Southeastern
Zane Trace
Huntington
Adena

Thanks X

Is Jenkins going to be able to play for Piketon? Missed volleyball due to injury.

Hunnington has an very good sophomore class. They just might be ready to make a big impact this season.

Southeastern has a tremendous group of 8th graders. Some of those girls will be ready to go next year.

I'd be surprised to see anyone other than Unioto at the top at seasons end. But you just never know!

The SVC will be down in talent this year from where it has been especially after Unioto.
1. Unioto
2. Piketon
3. Westfall
4. Southeastern
5. Paint Valley
6. Zane Trace
7. Adena
8. Huntington Ross

I'm glad Jenkins is ready to go.
She would have made Piketons Volleyball teams a lot different this year.

Any word on Stonerock from Westfall?
I heard she was recovering from a softball injury,
which kept Her out of Volleyball this year.
I know softball is her sport
but with her height and athletic ability
She would be a force to deal with
on both volleyball and basketball courts.

Huntington and Paint Valley are going to be the big question marks this year.

HHS is very talented but very young.
They have a  New coach
but he is a wryly veteran of the SVC and coaching.
I think coach Snyder will get a lot out of this group,
look for them to keep improving all season long.

Paint Valley is the enigma of the league.
Good size, good athletes, should have a mix of veterans and youth
Can they put it all together?
If they do they will be right with Westfall and Piketon
nipping at the heels
Of the Sherman's.

Of course in Frenchtown we need to stay healthy,
The grind of the Fall Sports schedule
Has a few of our players coming
Into the season banged up.
We should be healed up in time for league play.

Yes, Southeastern is currently 3-0. They beat Whiteoak at the Paint Valley Classic and also beat Beaver Eastern and Adena at home.

Zane Trace nearly upsets Westfall before falling on a last second shot. Final score 44-42. The Pioneers appear to be playing some good ball.

Any final score on tonight's non-league makeup game between Wellston at Southeastern?

Thanks.
