Fort Frye girls will scrimmage maysville Wednesday. Will be interesting to see what, if anything, the new coaches have changed. Heard they had a junior ( starter last year) quit. Not a good way to start the season if your a new coach.

Does Jackson still have a big scrimmage with a lot of teams? If so, does anyone know when it is?

Heard she's still out, probably miss at least December from what I was told.

Thanks, I was told earlier this week she was going to be out but apparently they were wrong lol. How'd Warren look?

Fort looked good in first scrimmage. Played 9-10 girls on varsity. Keep running them in every 2-3 minutes. I can see them playing a solid 8 girls. Played up tempo, definitely a change from years past. On to strausburg next week. Overall, my early observation is that the Lady Cadets should have a pretty good season this year, even with the lumps your gonna take with a new coaching staff

I know Union Local had a scrimmage over the weekend four or five other teams. Anybody know how Warren looked? And what does Union Local look like? I think they have everyone back from their regional team last year and are expected to be pretty good.

Fairland scrimmaged Circleville Saturday. I was told they beat them pretty bad. They scrimmage Jackson tonight and I should be able to watch this one and give my 2 cents.

Fort frye will scrimmage at Strasburg Wednesday. They will play Strasburg, McKinley, Smithville, and west branch. All games will be 16 minute running clock. Marietta will be there as well, but Fort wont play them

Hard for me to say as I’ve been out of the girls basketball loop for a minute.

4 year starter Sydney Carpenter will have the ball in her hands and she’s a great athlete. Junior Lilian Mapes is tremendous athlete and along with Carpenter can apply some real pressure on the defensive end…both can get to the lane. Junior Lauren Walburn can hit the mid range and the 3. Jaylyn Montgomery controls the boards well and is very active in the paint. Senior Lexi Hughes, sophomore Peyton Carpenter, sophomore Parker Curtis, freshman Laiken Saunders, junior Micaela Gibson, freshman Adalyn Stone and sophomore Lauren Leach will all be used as best needed and all bring something a little different to the team dynamic. Unfortunately sophomore Carsen McKinniss is out with a knee injury.

Jackson will play hard and a team of really good kids. If they can hit some shots and keep improving on defense they could compete well all season.

Fort frye girls beat Mckinley 21-12. Lost to
Strausburg 13-8. Tied West branch 15 all. Beat Smithville 14-8. 16 minute games. Fort only played with 6 girls for varsity bc JV were playing at same times. Overall they looked good at times. But they are learning a new offense and defense. So it's gonna take time to get comfortable with both. This could hurt them this season.

Fairland scrimmaged Jackson and Minford Monday evening. Fairland played well. Not sure what the other two teams have, but when they played each other it looked to be competitive. No knock on those teams, but Fairland is just in a different class than those two. It was hard to get a feel for what Fairland really looked like. Neither team could hardly get past half court on them. Long season ahead so we will see.
