Athens Schedule Blunder

Athens girls are playing a tough tournament game with FU on Feb 16th. Apparently the school administration thought nothing of it, they have booked a boys game on the same night. Way to go AHS!

The game with Meigs was scheduled for the 17th ... It had to be rescheduled though (which is up to both schools to decide when - it may have been Meigs only date to play)

also - the rescheduled game with Meigs was scheduled BEFORE the tournament draw - not sure they were aware exactly when the girls would be playing.

But I agree - its not a good thing - but they still have time to fix it ... I'm sure they can come to agreement with Meigs to figure out a different day to play.

(if not ... the girls actually start at 6:15 in Albany - a fan would have time to get back to the Plains - especially if they push back tip-off to 8:00 PM for the boys game.)

I like boys hoops a little better - but I also will be out at Alex for the girls game versus Fairfield Union ... I'm a little worried about having to play a (16-2) team - but we're pretty good too! Hence the reasoning for going.

Administration is trying to come up with a solution. Nelsonville TV Cable wants to cover both teams. May start the JV game later so people can go to both games. I hope it works out. We love covering both teams.

They both show having 2/18 open they should be able to play then.

Wrestling tournament in Athens gym Friday and Saturday that week. Athens will start the JV game at 7 and start Senior night ceremonies after the game. With the girls starting at 6:15 at Alexander, it should work to let fans see both. Nelsonville TV Cable will cover both Varsity games.
