NY made a statement this week winning 3 games in 3 nights all on neutral courts or on the road. Their big tests are still ahead of them with 2 games against VC, one at Wellston and at Athens.

NY now has a record of 8-3. They won 3 games in 3 days this week and the first of their 3 wins was a come back win against a undefeated Tree of Life team. Lets come back thurday and get another win against Vinton County. Lets go Lady Buck!!!

Adena is 8-1, lost a close game against Miami Trace
Unioto is 7-1, lost to 6-2 Bishop Hartley

Unioto should get Erin Bane back at any time. Started for their 23-1 team as a freshman and is coming off an injury, but her scoring ability will be big for the Lady Shermans come tournament time.

How much better is Unioto than last year?

They are deeper. Bane didn't play last year and that would have been a major help. The healthy Overly girl has had a very solid freshman year. She's a big difference and they seem to have more options than last year though.

Jackson is going to be a very tough game for them.

Jackson mashed them in the sectional finals last year but we lost a great senior player and another senior starter.

With that in mind Jackson is also deeper with our 6-8 players starting on most teams

I knew that, Unioto lost their top 2 players(even though one didn't play most of the season) I'm glad I got free tickets to a college game that day and missed it, LOL. Should be a fun game and good barometer for Unioto.

Watch out for Fairfield Union. Beat Teays Valley, two-time defending MSL-Buckeye champ, last night by 10 at home and are now 10-1. Seem to be coming on in the past couple of weeks.

Division 2 is loaded the Alexander District has at least 7 quality teams, Jackson, Marietta, Fairfield Union, Athens, Warren, Sheridan, and South Point can all play. Have not seen Vinton County yet but they beat Athens so that makes 8. Not much easier at Adena with Miami Trace, McClain, Washington C.H., Unioto, and Logan Elm. Good thing SE now gets 2 District champs instead of one. Still going to be very challenging to get out of the Districts though you are going to have to play well every night.

Some of the teams being listed makes me ask myself two questions:
1. Do people get out to watch many girls basketball teams in the area?
2. Is southeastern Ohio girls basketball having a down year?

Twinsburg is legit.

They have one of the top post players in the nation with Malina Howard and one of the top guards in Ashley Morrissette.
Morrissette is fun to watch when she plays under control.

We have played them at Eastern Ohio camp the last few years and have had some good battles.

How about Fairland? Just from the scores in the paper they seem to be pretty strong this year.

They benifitted from getting Terra Stapleton back from Huntington St. Joseph Central Catholic. No one in the area matches her size which makes her an impact player in the post. Getting her back helps and makes them an instant top 8 team in the southeast for division 3. I can see them struggling with teams that run and press. On the other hand, if they can handle pressure and make it a half court game then their zone could give teams fits.
