I hope we didn’t beat them too bad and hurt everyone’s feelings. 🙏

I’m not for sure what this quote is about, but as a Waverly fan and parent of a player I can assure you no ones feelings were hurt. Our girls knew what they were up against and had watched games and read scouting reports. Vinton County was hands down the better team and beat the socks off of us. Our girls walked out of your gym with their heads held high and their was no whining, with that being said good luck the rest of the way.

This quote was for all of the haters we’ve had to deal with the past few years on this site. It wasn’t directed at Waverly fans or players. Waverly had one heck of a year and at a few points in the second and third quarters, they played right with the Vikings.

VC girls basketball doesn't have haters. They haven't won enough for long enough to get to that point. The boys program used to have haters but since Athens joined the league and has handled them regularly the haters have waned. If the girls continue to run the score up on weak opponents there may be a few people hate on them but until they have some deep tourney runs the number of detractors will be minuscule.

The boys have more championships than Athens since they joined. The girls have been hated on for the last 4 years. Obviously you haven’t been paying attention to the posts on this site.

Marauder, I thought I told you to call the school and make sure they didn’t make the pointless trip to Southeastern tonight. Looks like you forgot. It’s too bad though. Could’ve saved my Vikings from getting embarrassed. Oh, wait....

Great job by the Lady Vikings tonight posting their first District Championship in school history with a win over the very well coached Circleville Lady Tigers and running their record to 23-1! It is a tribute to these hard working kids, their parents, Coach Bentley and all the people that helped them along the way. Hopefully, they have several more games left as they begin Regional play on Tuesday at Zanesville! It was a wonderful that our County Sheriff and Fire Departments met them at the County line and escorted them back to McArthur-that is why living in small communities is so great!!!

I said months ago that this team was headed to Columbus, folks laughed. This team is special, do not see anyone in the Regionals getting in the way.

Congratulations to Vinton County and it would be nice to see a Sheridan against Vinton County regional final. Be a heck of a game.

Who hates them? And when's the most recent championship the boys have won?
