Don't this year's results for Garaway exactly mirror Ironton's teams' results in 2005?
First - BOTH Garaway's Boys and Girls teams made it to the Final Four in the same year - something not often done.
Second - the Girls Team loses to the eventual State Champ in the semi-final round. [Wrong - Garaway lost in the final, not the semi-final]
Third - the Boys Team loses in the Championship Game
It sounds "disappointing", but believe me, it's not! Just "getting there" is so great and so exciting!
Ironton was so proud of both our teams for their respective accomplishments - and for the fact that it happenened the same season. That was a great year and great memories.
There are apparently no Sugarcreek Garaway supporters on here.
After all, they are just geographically too far north to be called "southeastern" Ohio. But they were bracketed in our region, and their school had such a super year and so much to be proud of, I just want to say Congrats to Sugarcreek Garaway for their school's accomplishment - having BOTH the Boy's and the Girl's Basketball Teams in the Final Four, then the Final Game [and eventual STATE runners-up] is something to be applauded! GREAT SEASON FOR GARAWAY!
