Kayla Cook, seven year starter for the WV Thunder and a senior at South Webster High School has verballed with the University of Cincinnati. Congratulations Kayla on an excellent choice of schools.

Awesome news Larry!!! The new coach at UC is a former assistant at UConn and it looks like she's after some top-notch recruits. I saw in the Cincinnati Enquirer that she also got a commitment from an excellent defensive guard from Mason I believe just this past week.
Congratulations to Kayla on this tremendous accomplishment and now get on and enjoy your senior year!!

Good Luck to Kayla exept when she plays the Panthers.
I hope to get out to a couple of her games this year.I have yet to see her play...

Congrats to Kayla. Big East basketball is nothing to sneeze at. Hopefully she stays healthy this year and can get the Jeeps past Regionals this year.*

Tremendous high school career thus far and by looking at her cross country times early on.......she's looking at a state top 10 in XC.....which means she'll be even higher come track season.

Cook won the district XC race by a minute and was 4th at the regional race......a state competitor again.

On ESPN they have her as a TOP 100 recruit in this years class. Thats awesome!

B.T.W ....also on ESPN they have her school as Webster County High School out of W.V.....I made a feedback and told them to change it to South Webster High School in Ohio. YOU HAVE TO BE PROUD AND ROOT FOR SOUTHERN OHIO TALENT!

her school is listed that way probably because her AAU team is West Virginia Thunder

I just read the article in today's Portsmouth Daily Times. After reading it, I thought they did an excellent job with the coverage. It stated she is rated 90 on the ESPN top 100. Pretty amazing for a youngster from South Webster. Best of luck to you and your future adventures in college. Can't wait to see you on the floor in the Big East.

Have a question? Seen a picture of Kayla's signing, Did the principal or athletic director come to her signing. I know she had her signing at home, but she just lives next door. The picture had her coaches from webster and her AAU coach from Huntington. Whats the deal? RAW if they didn't come and support her.
