Ironton (4-1) takes on the Division III defending state champion Africentric at 12:30 p.m. on Tuesday in The Ironton Classic, thoughts?

Africentric is a very tough team! I know they've had several girls go on to play in college over the last several years. If I'm not mistaken, are they 2-time defending state champs? Go Ironton!

That's a possibility, but I don't recall them having one taken away.

A-High had one taken away in the past ten years. I can't remember what year it was, but it had to have been before 2009 because that's when the girls coach, Mike Thornton, became the boys basketball coach at Harvest Prep and got to the big dance a couple times. I believe that 2010-2011 season in boys is when they knocked out an incredible Manchester team. They would in turn have to forfeit games as well.

Harvest Prep also had to forfeit titles in girls basketball from around that same time period won under current boys coach Dave Dennis, who used to coach at Liberty Union.

Africentric is also most notably where the daughters of Pickerington Central basketball coach Jerry Francis got their diplomas after Harvest had the rug pulled from out under them.

Yes! In 2004 their boys team had to forfeit all 26 wins after playing an ineligible player all year.Lutheran East was the runner up that year and named state champ.
