It’s like Andy Hall of Jackson and Mike Bartrum of Meigs acting like children towards Burrow. They both got smoked by 50

They have much less choices(transfer) than most ---do to the size of the school district.... And only school in Ohio that goes by its COUNTY NAME!!!!!!!!!!!
see where you have 1 CB boy and 1 CB girl on the numbers Are they home schooled or from another county

Hard to believe. VCHS maybe not perfectly centered but it’s not on the far end either. What’s the farthest point away? Edge of Wilkesville? Why would that be 2 hours?

I teach in Whiteoak school district. D4 but District is not deep but it is very long (shaped like Tennessee a bit) District is 43 miles wide and Whiteoak HS is only 3 miles from the far western edge. Kids on our eastern 1/3 of the district rarely play sports. Economically disadvantaged (like everyone else)...yeah they can ride bus to school but parents can’t afford 60-80 miles of gas a day to pick up their kid from practice. I’ve had athletes have parents meet me about halfway through district and I’d take them to and from. That’s obviously rare.

Kids on our eastern side are closer to these high schools:

Paint Valley
McClain
Huntington Ross
Western
Peebles
North Adams
Hillsboro
Chillicothe
Unioto
Fairfield
Waverly

But they must go to Whiteoak....but not a 2 hour bus ride one way (though it’s way too long)

Maybe we need more busses? 🤷‍♂️ I can tell you from experience. I lived by Cox covered bridge. About 2 miles from the Hocking county line. I got on the bus every morning at 6 am. School started at 8:30. That’s all I know.

🤣🤣 our address was Creola. Although we were close to the mount! My family moved to Dundas when I was in the 3rd grade. Thus the name. Lol

I mean they rode the bus for over 2 hrs --one way to school----I would guess not to many other school districts have that issue.

Are we really dredging up the "kids per square mile" debate again? If so, look out, here comes that one guy from Logan about to post.

You could join Logan’s league and talk about square mileage

Athens can leave anytime they would like. Just don't see that happening anytime soon.

Yes. Around 75 kids smaller. Give or take. Roughly the same size as Waterford.

Ok, so what's the point? Vinton is a d2 school the same as athens. Mason has 1299 and chillicothe has 367 and they're both d1 in basketball. Are you saying vinton can't compete with athens because they have less students?

No, we normally beat Athens in girls sports.
