I mean kind of hard when you have a multi-million dollar roster to worry about from Summer and Fall, and usually eats into basketball season during the playoffs… sorry I had to, I’ll show myself out

This resignation seems odd. After one season he does not feel like he is the right person to guide the program? Feels like something else is going on here internal. Parent problems maybe?

Any updates on this? Who has applied for the job?

Not hearing much on this, although the posting just closed yesterday I believe. Two names I have heard mentioned a few times are:

John Persinger - Former Varsity Girls BB coach at WCH
Brian Southward - MT Boys Asst Coach

I've heard this as well. If confirmed, not sure how long they're waiting to release it (maybe waiting on a board meeting to make the recommendation), but it has the chance to be a really good hire for the girls program. This person definitely knows the game!

Very solid hire. MT girls basketball is in good hands.

Smallwood will do a very good job and it's about time the man got his shot.

Ohio State said he could no longer do both.
