Tuesday Oct. 6 at Wheelersburg. Could it wind up being the best game of the year? Webster could be undefeated! A Burg win would help their cause for an SOC championship keeping them in the hunt. I think it will be very physical. One key for Wheelersburg is to not let SW bully them with physical play and a key for SW is to just that.

I've had the opportunity to watch many 'Burg-Webster games.
It's always a close, hard fought game. Some of my favorite games have been between these two schools. Especially the games from the mid 90s. (The 'Burg-Minford games from the 90s were also some great games.) It's usually guaranteed to be a great game. I look for the same here...

Soccerfix is right. This could really be the game of the year. Last year the game ended in a tie. I think it left a bad taste for both teams. The winner will be the team that plays with the most heart and plays as a team. I hope my beloved Pirates show their true potential.

Having wathced both teams play this year I would have to give the edge to whoever has home field advantage.

who controls the middle of the field will win the game. webster defense is not just the back four. it starts in the middle and keeps the pressure off the back line. hopefully, a good match.

What are people's thoughts going into this game considering most people thought these two teams to be atop their SOC conferences?

Key match-ups this week that will have a direct correlation to the finale of the SOC II race:

Tuesday: Waverly at Minford / South Webster at Wheelersburg

Thursday: Wheelersburg at Minford

THOUGHTS??

The weather blog I read this morning was titled "Let's get ready to Rumble!", but it wasn't talking about the game. I hope the weather isn't too bad.

Go Jeeps!

I agree with RxBurgfan, midfield play will be key. Brooks and Scott match up nicely with each other. Likely to be a very physical game.

Gocats, I'm sure that the majority of the people also read the SOC thread and have already seen my post earlier.

Today is game day. Talks about the weather says that there is 70% chance of rain or thunderstorms tonight. Hopefully weather holds until after the game. This close to tourneys there is no need for sloppy play to cause a reckless injury. Hopefully it will be the game that everyone expects with a hard fought game between two of the premium soccer schools of southern Ohio. Can't wait to get at the game.
