Just to update summer tournament results.... though preseason doesn't mean a whole lot.

Chillicothe finished 3-1-1 in the July 10-11 Pete Raffa Tournament in Bowling Green losing only to Cincinnati Sycamore. (9 seniors, 1 junior, 4 sophomores, and 5 freshmen participated.)

The CAVS went 2-1-1 in the July 17-18 Jarosi-Willis Tourny in Columbus losing to Westerville North in game 1. (7 seniors, 4 sophomores, and 5 freshmen participated)

5-2-2 overall

To update Chillicothe's preseason....

Chillicothe was at Lancaster Fisher Catholic Thursday, August 12th. Final score was 5 or 6 to 1 Cavs. Four JV players travelled for the game with the varsity squad.

Chillicothe hosted South Webster today, Saturday, August 14th. South Webster was up 1-0 at half. Final score was 3-2 Chillicothe. (SW put one in the net right after the officials blew the final whistle that would have tied it) Very hot day to play. Scoring for the Cavs were Justin Ball, Ben Buchanan, and Cameron Lowe. Chillicothe showed some grit coming back late.

I was impressed with the South Webster squad. Very disciplined on defense. Quick to pressure the ball. Nice counter-attacking and transition. Played very hard and were stron tacklers. Probably better scoring chances than Chillicothe, but needed to capitalize more. Definitely less questions to answer than Chillicothe. Nice team. Should have a great year.

Waverly played at South Webster on Thursday and fell 2-1.

On Saturday Waverly, Minford, Unioto and Zane Trace played in a "Soccer for a Cure" Event held at Waverly. Unioto beat a depleted Minford squad 4-1 and Waverly lost to Zane Trace 2-1. Waverly's 1st team was up 1-0 when they left the field. It was a very hot day to play and thank you to everything who came out and helped fight the battle against cancer!

Waverly travels to Chillicothe early next week to play a 3 team scrimmage with the Cavs and Albany Alexander.

Wheelersburg tied Jackson 4-4 last thursday. Both teams played well with some mental mistakes here and there.
Burg defeated Peebles (5-0) and Valley (3-0) at the New Boston Super Scrimmage.
Burg takes on Ironton St. Joe this Tuesday, Alexander at home this Thursday, and will be playing against New Boston Friday night at 9:00 p.m. at Previews

Albany tied Chillicothe 1-1 in 40 minutes
Waverly beat Albany 7-2 in 40 minutes
Chillicothe beat Waverly 2-1 in 40 minutes

Wavery JV beat Chillicothe JV 2-1
