I know that Hiland from the East district has been the champion over there for a long time. Does any SE district soccer historian have the Berlin Hiland history against the SE teams? Has any team ever beaten them? How close have the scores been? How many times have they faced Burg? etc. Just curious...

This was just discussed on a previous thread...

In recent memory Hiland has lost to Minford, South Webster and Unioto. A little further back (late 90s) lost to Valley.

145 miles for Wheelersburg, 55 miles for Berlin Hiland. It's a shame that this game couldn't have been somewhere geographically centered, but at least it isn't at Philo! Zanesville's facility does look very nice though.

Perhaps somewhere over by Athens. Jackson not much better for Berlin, but should be better.

This is the OHSAA we're talking about. Unioto and South Webster played at Philo for a Regional Semi. Unioto also played Worthington Christian in Warsaw.

Should be a good game and would be a nice time for the Burg to get win #1 vs Hiland.

Sites were picked beforehand.

If someone else wants to host...maybe they should put their name in the hat.

The site for the regional final was picked beforehand, but the site for this game was on the bracket as TBA. I believe it was decided on Sunday afternoon. I have no way of knowing, but I would like to think that they left it that was in case Wheelersburg and South Webster ended up playing eachother, so they could have made the game at Jackson again or maybe even Valley.

Good luck from Waverly
The pirates have a fighting chance here. They are very solid throughout the center of the field and have a game-changer up top in Thurmer. Can they get the ball in their half of the field enough to give the forwards a chance? Can they cover up their weaknesses and be patient on the defensive side of the ball? I would say these are the 2 key factors.

Nice run by the pirates. Represented SE well. Made it very interesting for 40 minutes. Last half of first and front half of second. Seniors got some extended time.

It was listed as TBA, but that doesn't mean they don't have pre-approved venues waiting.

The OHSAA knows who will be hosting in what round. I'm sure Zanesville knew before Sunday afternoon. They have to prepare and won't be given a day and a half to prepare for it.
