I don't think you understand what garbage time actually is. It isn't necessarily a blowout. It occurs when both teams are playing their reserves and the outcome of the match is already determined. After Burg took a 2-1 lead, West lost several players, and Burg had full control of the ball. West had basically conceded the match before the 3rd goal, therefore they were playing in garbage time. It didn't make a difference whether the score was 2-1, 5-1, or 20-1, the game was already decided.jeepmadness wrote:Garbage goals in a 2-1 game. Come on man! 1994 district semi against burg, we were up 2-0 with 8 mins left. We lost 3-2 in regulation. No such thing as garbage goals in a 2-1 or 3-1 game.
Is it possible to post something without offending everybody? A meaningless comment got blown up into something it shouldn't have. I frequently make small comments regarding the match I'm referencing to help those not in attendance get a better understanding of how it went. I wasn't taking a shot at either team; I was simply making a comment so people understand the game was much closer than the score represented.
