If Waverly lost tonight that makes them 0-6?

i dont think ohsaa allows a student to use summer school as a way to makeup not being eligible...grades from the last grading period in the spring determine fall elig.

someone needs to shed more light on the waverly situation if indeed they forfeited games

It was a Waverly district rule that a student has to attend x amount of classes to pass a class. It is not a state rule. The Waverly AD contacted the OHSAA explained the situation and they decided that Waverly would forfeit. The player received three Fs, that could have been erased if the time would have been made up. Bottom line "go to school."

Minford 3 Waverly 1

Minford jumped out early on a PK but it was called off due to a player leaving the line early. Following a rain delay Waverly took the lead off of a nice header right before the break. Waverly looked and played very slow and lethargic in the 2nd half and Minford took advantage slotting home 3 unanswered goals on breakaways.

Very sorry to hear about this to Coach Roseberry and the Waverly faithful.

Waverly @ NW is postponed until next wednesday due to a lack of referees.

As for Western getting soccer. They did start a youth league this year!

Minford 2 Burg 1

Minford scored 1st on a finish off of a breakaway by Conrad.

Wheelersburg's Lewis drew a penalty in the box with 19 minutes to go in the 2nd half. It was a nice shot to tie the match.

One minute later Minford got the game winner on a nice shot from the left corner of the box that beat Burg's keeper.

Minford controlled most of the first half and then sat back and defended the second half and almost paid for it.

Gocats---
The PDT reported:
Minford---Conrad Cwik and Jake Hackworth
'Burg---Braxton Jarvis (PK)

Unfortunately I was unable to make this game. Sounds like an exciting game.
Glad to see Jarvis put it away but I figured that Brooks or Lewis would take the shot? Were they both on the bench?

Lewis received a yellow card directly after the foul was called for the PK. He pulled down the man who tripped him for the foul. That is why he wasn't in the game for the PK.
