I believe Webster was denied a goal with an incorrect offside call, not to mention an over the back foul in the box that could’ve also been called resulting in a PK.

I heard that the refs were not the best but I am not knowledgeable enough on soccer rules to really make a good opinoin here. -Mack

Yes, absolutely robbed of a goal on a phantom offsides call. I understand officials missing calls as nobody can see everything. But calling or guessing something is 100% unacceptable. This was a regional game & deserved better. That guy has no business reffing HS soccer let alone a tournament game. The guy didn’t even know where to position himself to call offsides.

Yes, absolutely robbed of a goal on a phantom offsides call. I understand officials missing calls as nobody can see everything. But calling or guessing something is 100% unacceptable. Wow! I had no clue it was this bad! I'm a foreigner to soccer and only went to the game as my daughter's boyfriend is on the team. Sad to see the refs were actually that bad. i just assumed it was a bunch of parents getting mad at they always do haha -Mack

I agree there's nothing close to an offside offense in that clip. He's in decent position initially but failed to advance with the ball. I know this official. His explanation is that he had an offside offense from the player furthest from him (who looks to be onside by a half-stride anyway, but it's close) and thought the player was involved with the GK or played the ball (he didn't). That's a common mix-up and the fix is a conversation between the center and the AR here before the restart.

That said— he's a solid ref, I've watched him work in person... if we fire him and every ref below his level, we'd have zero high school soccer in the state.

It's water under the bridge now, but two blown calls on the same play.... come on the Center and the AR both had enough common sense to call the obvious foul in box... the NA player completely climb on Jeeps #5's back and shoved him down to the ground - everyone was able to see that. Just hate to see it go down like that for this Jeeps team. Unto Basketball now...

The offside call was bad— but I disagree on the call for a PK. Red backed into White while White was in the air. No ill-intent, Red had a better read of where the ball was landing, but White went straight up. Run the YouTube clip at 25% speed.
