Good!

The 1st couple years could be rough, but if they stick with it and get a good, young coachm the program could go in the right direction.

Word is that they have over 20 kids interested in participating and many of these kids are already athletes in other sports, so I think that will help! I agree that it will be rough for the first couple of years, but I think if the new coach has a hand in player development at the Youth League level (yes, Eastern has their own youth league) then the program could be very successful sooner than some expect...

Yes, they would be the 4th school in the SOCI to have Soccer and the 9th school over both divisions of the SOC...

SOC 1:
S. Webster
New Boston
Clay
Valley
Eastern?
Oak Hill?

SOC2:
Minford
'Burg
Northwest
West
Waverly

i realize that it wont be a problem for this year, but they will have to change the format of how many conference games that they will play, i highly doubt they would eliminate non conference games all together, which would be bad for SP, st Joe, Piketon, West union,

Let's swap Valley and S. Webster (SOC I) with Northwest and Portsmouth West (SOC II) and I think it would level out the competition!

pcohio, do you know if they still have the potential coach they did a few years ago when they were planning on starting a soccer team? I remember him being very involved with soccer at the Waverly YMCA and thinking that he would be a great choice for head coach.

He has been asked to reapply and he is very interested in the position; however, he has also applied for the vacant Waverly Junior High position. Waverly says they won't post the position until the end of the school year, so he is waivering on which would be the best fit for him!

From what I have heard, it sounds like the youth program at Eastern has been very successful. I figured sooner or later some of those kids who played in the youth program would be wanting to continue as they got older. I hope it goes well for Eastern and the kids who enjoy soccer get to continue.

He built Jackson from the ground -up to where they are today. He would be my choice in starting a new program....
