Rio has a boy from this side of the pond as well ( or at least i assume he is still there) Wyatt Smith from zane trace. I hope to go watch, always more fun to see a college sport when there is local tallent represented.

Rio is top quality! They do get some state-side players but most of them don't play because the style of futbol is the U.S. is so different. When you have a whole team of players that understand the game in an entirely different way and mesh a lot easier, it's hard for a state-side player to jump in the mix.

Hopefully I'll get to stop by and see Tony and Scott and see some quality players.

If these were regular season matches...Rio takes both games. Marshall, I don't believe as complete as Rio. Should be fun to watch though!

Guys, gets your kids there! See how soccer is supposed to be played!! Listen to Rio's chatter on the field...Nothing like it!

-SSU vs Marshall, Marshall 3-0
-Marshall vs Rio, Rio 2-0
-SSU vs Rio, Rio 5-0

I think Rio will come out looking to, not only win both games, but control and dominate both. The loss at Nationals may have them ready to prove that they're better than they showed. Should be a fun day.

UUsokkr12, It's DEF a challange to step in and compete with talent that comes from overseas. Lots of fun to watch. And your right, Rio's talk on the field is unreal.

What was the outcome of the scrimmages? I was a fair weather fan and did not attend. How did the turf do under the circumstances?

Game 1
Marshall-4
Shawnee-0

Game 2
Rio-2
Marshall-1

Game 3
Rio-2
Shawnee-0

The turf held up great, both Rio and Marshall were very imprerssed with the soccer facility. We had a decent crowd with inclimate conditions.
All teams were not at full strength, naturally for a very early spring match.
This event will take place again next year with the addition of another team TBA.
Hopefully with better weather for the fans!
