A good result for unioto, honestly. Watched a lot of the game while watching the OSU game, new Albany has some really good players but they are a selfish team too. Unioto battled with them for 80 minutes.

1- Fairfield Union
2- Warren
3- Chillicothe
4- Unioto
5-Wheelersburg
6- Athens
7- Waverly
Removed my error with westfall
8- Gallia Academy
9- Miami Trace

Chilli and Warren, are tight, but warren has the better sos, and chilli has that 10-1 game on their resume, so i put warren 2.

A lot of teams with good records but the SOS is BAD.

The only one I don't agree with is Chillicothe. I would, of course I hate saying this because I grad. from Chillicothe and hate Unioto, but would 100% put Unioto above Chillicothe.

Most people would be mad that I put unioto where I did considering their record, but records don't tell the whole story. And I'm confident theyd beat every team behind them. Unfortunately I think the draw is before unioto and chilli play.

Unioto plays alot harder of a schedule then Chillicothe does. Only teams CHS plays that is really any good is RoseCrans, Marietta and Logan, and they barely beat Rosecrans. Other then that they play a week schedule. I mean they play Washington CH twice and beat them double digits to nothing. I lost a ton respect for CHS when the left the OCC because they kept getting their butt handed to them.

Well you do know that they HAVE to play Washington twice? The FAC plays everyone twice, believe me, Chillicothe wishes the league was structured like the SVC but the AD’s keep voting to play twice. So 10 of our 16 games are already scheduled.

Yes I noticed that they played everyone twice, that is just crazy. So all the AD's want to play everyone twice or is it just Chillicothes. Makes me think of Wheelersburgs. They have so many in the SOC they can't actually play anyone good during the season.

Chillicothes AD had brought it up with no success. It’s just easier for AD’s to have them play twice.

You think that CHS's AD would say no we as the school aren't doing it.

Less scheduling they have to do for a non revenue sport... shocking huh.

How is this a good result for Unioto? If they lost the game I'm kinda surprised. I had them in my top 3 teams in the area for D-2.

New Albany if I remember correctly crushed them last year when they had even better players then they do now. In the area yes they are one of the best D2 teams. New Albany is a D1 team, and Unioto has probably the hardest schedule around.

For D2 teams Fairfield Union is 1 and then Unioto is 2 for me.

New Albany is a solid D1 program, they tied Lakota West (ranked #4 in the state in D1). While no one likes to lose games, it's the risk of playing an extremely tough schedule. Unioto's other losses are to Marietta, who is state ranked in D1, and Bexley and Fairfield Union, who are both ranked in D2. Gahanna Lincoln isn't ranked but just as about as good as any of those teams based on their results.

FU's only loss is to Pick Central and PC is a .500 team that lost to both Bexley and Gahanna Lincoln. This tells me that you can be one of the best teams in the SE District and still not being able to compete up in Columbus or Cincy.

Would really like to see one of our SE teams give over the hump in the Regional Semis this year, but it's gonna be another tough test for someone playing the likes of Bexley, Granville or Bloom Carroll in D2.

Well they lost what 8-0 to gahanna, who lost 7 or 8-0 to New Albany. I fully expected Unioto to get beat badly but with 2 minutes left in the first half it was 1-0 new Albany. I watched the game and thought unioto really battled about as well as they could have.

Fu beat pick central last year 4-2, so they've beaten those teams. I think if you asked fu coaches and kids theyd tell you they 100% expected to win that game v pick central this year, but I dont think fu was playing their best soccer early and got beat.

Ultimately, yes, the SE has to win a regional game vs the central to really get some respect, but unioto and fu are getting some because these teams want to play them. Most of the food central Ohio teams aren't looking for teams they know they can crush.
Unioto clearly signed a home and home with some teams that hasn't been fun for them this year, but they played them tough last year and sometimes these results happen when you graduate a solid class and dont have a bunch of kids playing club to replace them, like these central ohio D1 teams do.

We have had some wins vs the central lately, we just haven't had a win vs them in the regionals.

Unioto and Fu have been the two top teams lately, so I'll just look up the last 3 seasons.

Fu:
2018:
Tied Bexley 4-4
Beat Pick Central 4-2
Beat regional finalist John Green 3-0 (from East)
Beat Columbus Academy 4-1
beat Bloom Carrol 3-0

2017:
beat Bexley 3-1
beat John Glenn 5-2 (East district champs)
beat Bloom Carrol 4-1
Beat The Wellington School 2-0
Tied Columbus Academy 1-1

2016:
Tied Bloom Carroll 1-1
Beat bexley 1-0
beat John Glenn (east) 2-1
Tied columbus academy 0-0
Lost to Granville in regional 1-0 in OT. if I remember right, FU had a couple off the post late in regulation that would have won it for FU.

Unioto:
2018:
Tied Gahanna 1-1
Tied Buckeye Valley 4-4
Lost to Big Walnut in regional 2-0

2017:
Lost 1-0 to Big Walnut in regional

Actually, unioto is a bad example, because their coaches still don't use ossca.. so we don't even see all their games on there. We need Dani to get on them about that!
I think teams in the southeast have improved and gotten better, and we have competed at regionals, but Granville and Big Walnut aren't just any regular D2 central ohio teams, they are the powerhouses.. and when we play them, they are the only team left in central ohio. Hopefully we can get over the hump and beat one of them.

While I am sitting here researching, might as well give the updates from Maher Rankings as well.

Rankings regardless of Division in Ohio (top 1000 are in rankings): Color coding them was the best I could do, since the site always jumbles everything together. sorry.

Marietta ...... 131 ..... 582
Unioto ...... 154 ..... 177

Always appreciate the insight. But the teams on the perimeter of the SE district are closer to playing tougher schedules. When you are along the river your chances are nill to stiffen your schedule. A high school can’t play in a conference and then try and play schools two hours from them. And no way to get a 1 and 1.
