Emotional day @ Chilli and a big hug to Kala Hall for her strong effort today after the untimely loss of her mother. She is one special kid to have the strength to play today. Love and prayers to Kala, family and the Waverly volleyball team for a courageous effort today.
Well said.
I should have stayed for the Waverly CHS match. Sounds like the Lady Cavs are gearing up for a long tourney run.

The Cavaliers swept Pickerington Central in 3 sets 25-17, 25-19, 25-18 to advance and will now travel to #9 seed Hilliard Davidson @ 6 pm Thursday on Hilliards home floor. We are now down to 24 teams left out of 43 in the mega-sectional that is the Central District. Felllow SEOAL foe Logan was beat in 3 by Westerville North. Portsmouth also lost in D3 to Piketon and Jackson faces Waverly tonight and Gallia travels to Unioto. Warren also still alive as far as i know. GO CAVS!

Jackson's season comes to an end with a loss to #1 seed Waverly.

25-16
25-22
25-15

Jackson loses 3 experienced seniors. Sarah Martin a multiple time all-SEOAL selection and multiple time all-district selection...great setter and hitter. Kennedy Shasteen a 3 year letterman and a great blocker and server. Kelly Hughes....whew, my kid. The little 4'11 libero. Nothing flashy just solid. Was 260/266 serving on the year (98%)....a joy to watch all 3.

Thanks to Coach Jay Martin and all the Ironladies...gonna miss it.

Ironman, good luck to you and daughter whatever she chooses to pursue. You have been an informed volleyball savvy poster and i have enjoyed your participation. You can still come to games and enjoy the competition even though your daughter will be gone. High school volleyball has got to be one of the funnest sports to watch nowadays, but then again i am biased cuz i love the sport. Ironman 92 has been a gracious, observant, informed volleyball poster and i raise my clipboard to you sir.

I'll be around...but I'll know even less about who is any good around SE Ohio because I won't see the teams like I have the past several years....can't be as accurate just by score watching.

The #14 seeded Chillicothe Cavaliers beat the #9 seed Hilliard Davidson Wildcats on their home floor to win a Central District Division 1 sectional title. Absolutely won of the most nerve racking matches ever for us. Scores were 22-25, 18-25, 25-21, 26-24, 15-12. Took 3 straight after being down 0-2 in sets. Move on to the district semi @ Big Walnut next Thursday at 7:30 pm. I think we play Gahanna Lincoln winners over Watterson. Go Cavs!

Congrats to all student-athletes that made all-league, and a big shout out to Maddi "G" money Glendening as POY and Katelyn "Hammer" Martin, "Hay" ley Robinson & "PB" Parisa Bennett on all-league status. The SEOAL needs to revisit their selection process and move foward with our sport. How can you have only 10 athletes make all-league? Volleyball starts 6 and every team nowadays has a libero with really makes it 7 so why not have a 1st team of 7 with a libero position voted on seperate, then a 2nd team with 7 ( same process ) and a honorable mention for each school is appropriate. Respect the sport and change your current system. At least have a first and second team with 6 each and 1 hon mention means 18 kids get a shot. thanks for reading my rant, oh well we are moving to another league so i said my piece. Go CAVS!

I agree....it wouldn't be watered-down.

The players just sneaking onto the 2nd team via vote would be better than every coach getting the courtesy HM (though I have no problem with that and most of them usually deserve it)

Last surviving SEOAL team, Chillicothe bows out in Central District D1 district semi-final. Gahanna beats Chilli in 3 sets 25-21, 25-12, 25-14. Great job girls on a 19-6 season and a league and sectional championship. Chilli was the only non-OCC team in the 12 teams left in the mega-central 43 team district. The numbers tell the tale as Gahanna has 508 more girls than Chill roaming their hallways which translates to alot more 6 footers to choose from. We really belong in D2 but you gotta play the hand dealt you so we gave it our best. Good skill and luck to all that are left in the tourney, we are rooting for all SE Ohio teams in Chilli.

I will take that DII idea one step further..........
The Cavs should be in the SVC if only for volleyball.
Anywho I'm far from King so I doubt we will ever see that happen.

6 footers eh?
I wonder how many 6 foot plus 8th graders they cut.............................

Big congratulations to Coach Bret on District coach of the year honors.
He is a very good coach and Chillicothe is fortunate to have him and his staff.

Thanks XTO and Coaches Tanedo, Bennett and Cade really make a huge impact on the teams development. You are volleyball savvy and seek me out if ever in the Frenchtown country club and i will purchase a brew for you. I am in there sometimes as the Clark brothers are buddies and i used to play 2-man beach volleyball with Jeremy. Thanks for the kind words and including Chilli in conversations.
