looks like myers did a nice job holding them to just 1 run in the first game then.

legion baseball is different from high school baseball in every sense of the word, anything can happen and it does. the level of play is so much higher, better hitters, better pitchers, deep benches. it truly is like watching a good college game in my eyes. everyone hits the ball hard, everyone makes good plays in the field, anyone can win any game. i do feel that post 23 is capable of winning a lot of games though, they are a very good team.

best of luck with the rest of the season, there are a lot of games left and one bad loss doesn't mean a thing, just show up at the next game and play like your capable of and get a lopp sided victory in your favor

Myers (PHS) threw game #1.

Leach (W'Burg) , Farmer (Mt V) and Montgomery (SW) threw the night cap.

POST 23 was sluggish again offensively. Just could not string hits together. Left alot of runners on in both games. Several nice balls hit but most were right at the fielders. I bet the POST 142 CF caught 4 balls that were flat smoked and did not move 3-4 steps.

Offense will begin to pick up as the day to day play continues.

The sophomore from Waverly, Harrison Martin, is showing southern Ohio just how good he is. Last night he looked like the best player on the field. He homered off
Myers and had at least three web gems at short. Colleges had better take notice-
he is also a 4 pt student.

Those were some very good ball games. The first game at 2-1 ( post 23 )was a pitchers dual for the ages. Those kids and those 2 teams stood toe to toe and traded punches all night. There were hard hit balls, and some great defensive plays, but most of all it was 2 pitchers throwing the right pitch at the right time to get the outs that they needed. If you were there and you are a baseball fan and student of the game, this is the type of game that you always hope to see. It is a shame that one of those kids had to take the loss or that one team had to take a loss. Both teams can be proud that they were involved in such a brilliantly pitched and played game. In Branch Rickey Parks long and storied existance it has no doubt seen some great games, but for the baseball purest, this one ranks right up there.

The second game was also a good game. A little more sloppy but still there were good defensive plays and some good pitching. Post 142 wins that one 14-4 .

I agree soccerfix, Martin is a stud. Homer off of Myers was a shot, then like you said had several nice plays at short. Gonna be fun watching him develop as a baseball player, has a tremendous amount of potential.

Nope... I did not make the trip to chilli so no details to pass along.

Tonight does not look good for baseball. Alot of rain on the radar headed this way.

The website is being updated almost daily with game results and schedule changes when I get them.

I have just added a link on the welcome screen to action photos of some of the games. Thanks should go out to Mrs. Myers for taking the time to take these photos at the games. Nice to have these memories. I will be uploading more photos as I get them.

Oh and since the Jr team schedule is on the site can someone update me on the games scores and I'll enter them as well.
