How's the Gallipolis Legion doing?

Anybody know how the Gallipolis Legion baseball team is doing this summer?

Gallipolis split with Lancaster Post 11 today.

11-9 win in the first game and 15-5 loss in the second game.

Both games were league games. Post 11 now 2-1 in league 9-4 overall

6/17 Gallia over Meigs 7-2 at Rio Grande.Malone had a monster home run and Zimmerman had 9 strong innings with some great run support and solid defense. Same teams play tomorrow at Meigs high school. Gallia I think has lost only 1 league game at this point.

Next game is Pickerington (DH) on Sunday at Univ. of Rio Grande. Gametime is 1:00

Post 27 dropped both ends of the DH against Pickerington Sunday. Finals were 12-2 and 10-5. Next on tap is the Post 76 4th of July tournament in Ashland. Gallipolis is scheduled to play 6:30 and 9:00 on Friday, July 3.

Gallia post mercied macarthur post 21-10 ending it in 7 after a Zimmerman 3 run shot.Gallia had pitching by commitee trying to get everyone a little work.Good luck this weekend in Ashland.

Post 27 has climbed back above .500 after wins over Marietta/Belpre and Logan. The record now stands at 10-9 for the season overall; however, I'm not sure of the conference mark at this time. We travel to Ashland tonight for a rematch with Post 76, then play a doubleheader tomorrow @ Athens, beginning at 5:00.

Post 27 dropped a nine inning affair to Post 76 (Ashland, KY) last night by a final of 6-3, putting the season record at 10-10. Doubleheader on tap for tonight at Athens with the first pitch scheduled for 5 PM.

Athens won both games by identical 12-6 scores, but both games were close -- see separate thread for line scores from the two games. Gallipolis was the home team for the second game which was to make up the one postponed earlier this summer. Despite the two losses, Gallipolis is still third in the league at 6-5 and is now 10-12 overall. Gallipolis will close league play by hosting Logan Saturday.

If Athens wins their final two games on Sunday could they tie Gallia for third place and then win the tie breaker head to head?

Jake- Gallia would have to lose to Logan on Saturday and Athens would have to win both games @ McArthur. Then the tie breaker would favor Athens.

Gallia beat Logan yesterday 7-0 on a complete game shutout by Anthony Bond. The second game was called in the top of the second due to weather with Gallia winning 1-0. Gallia is the #3 seed in the tournament, and will play Logan in their first district game Tuesday.

I think this is a 1:00 tourney game @ Dalton Field in Athens. Winner will play the Pickerington/McArthur winner, on Tuesday @ 5:30. Perhaps someone from Gallia or Logan can confirm...
