Whiteoak won 7-2. Gage Carraher had 18 strikeouts, setting a new school record as a freshman.

18 K....goodness

That's similar (yet different sports) to Blake Justice scoring 46 in his first ever varsity game.....hard to top though.

Whiteoak has 4 frosh really contributing....and doing very well.

18 k's may be a little more impressive...18 k's can single handedly beat a team, 46 points doesn't...not taking any credit from him, just saying...

They are two totally different accomplishments. 18 k's is simply 18 outs....could've given up 5 runs in the 7th and lost just as well. 46 points could win a high school game......I've seen many teams score less than 46 points in a high school basketball game. Striking out 18 doesn't mean you held the team scoreless and 18 k also doesn't mean your team has scored any runs. Both accomplishments are tremendous.

I've watched and participated in MANY high school baseball games and have never witnessed 18 K and have watched even more high school basketball games and have never witnessed a 46 point game. There are if's and but's each way.
