Logan Elm vs. Zanesville - D2 Regional Semifinal

Post by bman »

Tough matchup for the Braves against a very good Zanesville ballclub. Gametime is Thursday at 2 p.m. at Gant Municipal Stadium in Zanesville.

Zanesville no-hit defending state champ Indian Valley in the District final.
IV returned like eight starters from last year.
Good luck to Logan Elm who has a good hitting ball club.

I have watched this group from Zanesville a number of times over the years but not this year. Logan Elm better bring their "A" game if they want to advance. The Blue Devils are loaded and have lots of depth on the mound. Would love to watch this one.

I would say Hudson but that is a guess.Hudson is the pitcher coming off no-no in district finals. If not him maybe senior Maxwell...

The one thing to always remember is this is a single-elimination tournament. One bad day ... heck, one bad INNING ... and things can change in a hurry. Once you get to this level, teams have had to have played some pretty consistent baseball in the postseason, and all are dangerous no matter what kind of handicapping is going on.

Both would be THE ace on most high school teams.

And Carpenter, our No. 3, would, too. Shoot, our 4 and 5 guys are darn good, too, but just don't get enough innings right now.

Anyway, looking forward to a good game tomorrow against a hot team. Man, you've GOT to love this stuff!

Zanesville smacks Logan Elm 11-2,Maxwell picks up win and Carpenter gets save.I thought LE let there starter in too long as the Devils ruffed him up and also didnt help there cause with a lot of base running miscues.
Way to go Blue Devils ..1 more and off to Huntington Park

Wow, I was going to take Z'ville in this game, but not by this kind of score. Congrats and good luck. Btw, I don't think there was a save in an 11-2 game.

Correct was not a save he would have to pitched 3 inning and i believe Carpenter pitched 2.

No save. And we have Maxwell with 5 innings if we need him on Friday. He'll be ready if he has to be. But I expect Hudson to be on point tomorrow. Devils play Lakewood, BTW.

It's a good thing the Blue Devils played that
tough opening game of the season against
Liberty Union to prepare them for this
tournament run! LOL just kidding. But good
luck to Z'Ville from the LU Lions.
Also gotta say good luck to Lakewood who needed
8 innings to beat Liberty Union just a couple
weeks ago.
