Just curious to see if anyone has seen Wellston play? Haven't been to any games but I have heard the record... are they struggling that much?

Meigs won the game 6-5. Alexander had the game in hand, but just did not make the plays when it was time to close out the game. Meigs catcher (11) was solid all day, killing the ball with the bat and playing his position at a high level. Meigs pitcher (23) threw 7 strong innings.

Alexander has lost three games and they have all been at home. Seems a little off.

Go Alex. Go Meigs.

A very good game...I told my buddy sitting beside me as soon as I seen #16 walk out to the mound in the 6th Inning, that they were keeping him in 1 inning too long...we were down 4-5 at that time, but I just knew with seeing him that inning we were going to come back....Meigs struggles when new pitchers are brought in for some reason.

The men in blue almost gave you all the game when the refused to give us the double play in the bottom of 7th....Glad we overcome that.

Out home officials sure the heck never give us the close calls, thats for sure.

In retrospect I would have like to have seen a pitching change as well in the 6th inning. But the truth is there were three errors in that inning by the Spartans. Meigs did their job by making the Spartans make plays. Alexander did not make the plays it needed to in order to win. Meigs did make the plays it.

Wishing all TVC teams the best in the tournament. At this point I am rooting for Meigs to beat Athens and force a three way tie for the league title.

I read in the Athens Messenger that Athens had two big wins over SEOAL Champion Jackson and D1 Lancaster to end the regular season at 17-8, and they won a share of the TVC-Ohio league championship.

Hell of a down year.

Aside from a Big Slip-Up (Losing to Meigs) on Wednesday of Last Week, Athens had a Solid Week...

Went to Gallia Academy and Won (SEOAL Runner-Up, SEO District #3 Seed)
Hosted Jackson and Won (SEOAL Champion, SEO District #2 Seed)
Went to Lancaster and Won (#3 in their League, forgot Seed but it is a Top Seed)

Now Currently in a Rain Delay in the Sectional Semi-Final Against Warren us 4-2 in the Bottom of the 4th...

If one only glanced at the Messenger article you would assume that Athens and Alexander did not win the league title.

We love our coaches. We would not think of publicly blaming any one person for a loss. It is a team game.

Go Alex. Go TVC.

Not knocking the Coach, Coach admitted he should have done differently. We will just see next year...Best of luck in the rest of the Tournaments!!!
