It is really not too early but ifor most travel teams it is really a bit late. Summer travel teams, at least upper level ones, usually hold their tryouts in the previous fall. At this point the have their rosters already set.
There was talk about starting a POST 23 junior legion team out of Portsmouth. I think there is junior legion teams for POST 757 and POST 62 out of Chillicothe.
Huntington Hounds is another in Huntington WV.
Next option is to travel to a bigger city like Columbus, Cincinnati or Dayton.
