the loss to portsmouth could have easily been a win for post 128. A few pitches left high in the zone allowed Portsmouth batters to tee-off. Overall I thought Post 128 played well but came up just short at the end.

Today and yesterday in Athens was my first opportunity to see Post 128 play this year. I have been swamped and have not really even had the chance to stay in touch through the forum here. I've been checking the newspaper but have not seen anything reported about the team there. I want to say that I was very impressed with the team at the Athens 4th of July tournament. Lots of hustle and good chemistry. Looks like a good nucleus of leadership is there. I applaud the boys and the coaches, who all appear to be working well together. Keep the winning tradition going strong. From living away from Meigs County (in Athens) I can tell you that when people speak of Meigs American Legion baseball, they speak and think with a much different sentiment these days. You are a team to be reckoned with.

Post 128 plays Jackson County Post 261 on Thursday in Oak Hill. Weather permitting of course.

I believe the game is now being played at Jackson instead of Oak Hill

Yes, the game is now being played at Jackson High School's field. Coach Haislop e-mailed me on Wednesday night. 6 p.m. first pitch at Jackson's Haller Field, just across from the old football field.

Wow that is an impressive win for Meigs. Who pitched for Picktown?
