I know Huntington plays ZT and Adena and they have some pretty good ones as well. Not sure how there top pitcher stacks up against Russell so that was the reason for the "probably" quote. He is a good one!

Another great win by the Pirates!

What a nice performance on the mound by Russell. He battled all evening without his best stuff. He worked behind in the count and got the ball up in the zone a bit, but he and the defense found a way to get the outs when needed. When he did miss up in the zone Huntington did hit the ball hard. They are a scrappy bunch.

Burgs offense put together another double digit hit night. They also were able to string together key hits with runners in position. Once again others find a way to step up. Wes Lyon had a couple nice hits with a 300' double off the LF fence to start off the bottom of the 1st.

Congrats to these Pirate players for their distirct championship title. For some its their 2nd.

Onto the regional semis at the VA. Can't wait until Thursday.

Wheelersburg was clearly the better team. It does seem though that Wheelersburg does not hit as well as they were in the early to middle part of the season. I hope they get hot again, because I would like to see them win the whole thing.
