Theres a picture of the Falcon I purchased at swap days. His name is "Donald". He will be doing a "fly over" Falcon Ballpark when Wheelersburg comes to town and he will drop the "gameball" from his beak.

I dont think 5 innings is likely, but it is possible. It should be a good game though. I think the pirates' bats struggle more so with strong arms than with breaking stuff. The games so far that the burg has faced strong arms they haven't been as outstanding offensively. In the waverly game burg won 7-6.. but 6 of their seven hits came from cook and wamsley and I believe all of their RBIs came from those two. Wamsley can hit off of anybody, Cook seems to prefer hard throwing pitching, and sometimes struggles against a kid who can't break an egg :) which obviously isnt hurting his batting average too much .. but like I said those two were the only two that had any success against the kid from Waverly who was a lefty and threw pretty hard with a decent curve. Against Bricker burg struck out about 12 times I believe. I think as a whole the Pirates need to get better against good, hard pitching before the tournement. The Pirates have been outstanding offensively so far this year, and Im sure they are capable of hitting most any pitcher, it may just be a matter of seeing it once or twice and getting accustomed to it. I dont think starting Cook will fare well for Minford as some people seem to think. I hope that both teams play good baseball and the best team wins.

Bottom line, it does not matter who starts for either team, BOTH TEAMS have to step up and play the game. The players will decide who will win the game. It appears to be a great day for a baseball game.

I'd like to wish the Falcons the best of luck WHEN you go to Nashville.

I have seen both Farmer and Cook pitch this year.

Not trying to be critical against either, but Farmer in my opinion has been hit harder against solid hitters than Cook has.

Everyone seems to be saying that Cook is a slow lefty. He has good velocity on his fastball and seems to throw a couple different curves (one maybe a slider) that have much different speed and still break quite a bit at the plate.

it seems as though kids that can catch up to Farmer's fastball have hit it hard. Cook gets alot of ground balls and short fly balls from the movement of his pitches.

I havent seen Burg play, but I would think they have the hitting edge as Minford has shown to be a little inconsistent but can really knock the stitches off the ball when they are on point and aggressive at the plate.

Very good game tonight at Minford. One of the few must see games in our area during the high school season.

Amazing day for baseball. The weather is great. Remember, if anyone wants some dawgs or some burgers or maybe a couple steaks, stop by the tailgate in the parking lot before the game.

Looks like I need to bring my shotgun tonight. I've never eaten Falcon before. I'm sure it will leave a bad taste in my mouth. It usually does. :122245

LOL......Thats really funny genius. You only have to be 18 to vote. And most 18 year olds are IN school. So, your remarks make no sense.
