Have seen Burg play with Martin on the mound and without him on the mound.....unbeatable so far with him throwing. Different team without him.

Hopefully they can get early leads in the next few games and save his innings.....but thats hard to do at this stage in the game.

In the previous game, Russell allowed only 3 hits to Waverly, so he isn't too shabby himself. Martin may be on a different level, but Russell, Rowe and Holbrook can give them a few innings too. The bottom line, there are 4 games left at most, you know who is starting 2 of those, so the 2-4 pitchers just need to perform as they have all year and the bats need to be more active.

Up next is either Zanesville West Muskingum or West Lafayette Ridgewood in the regional semifinals.

Looking around at the rest of the state brackets, Coldwater, Hamilton Badin, and Cin. Madeira have all been eliminated. Obviously, whoever beat them were solid too, but D3 has several favorites already out of the tournament.

Its Wheelersburg's for the taking. I was just saying that it would be nice to get up early in each game and save those innings. Those other pitchers are solid, but they are far from Martin.

Wasnt it Russell that gave up 6 runs in the loss to Greenup or was it a different pitcher?

No, I don't think it was Russell. I believe it was a soph and it was his only varsity start of the season.

Southeastern led 3-0 with nobody on and one out in the 7th.
Alexander scores five runs after that to win it.

No it was their 6th pitcher and it was his first game to pitch as a sophomore... I believe Russell is better than most other teams ace...
