Are you asking about all positions or just outfielders?

FH has a couple good outfielders in Cory McCune and Grant Smith.

In the infield, look for Jared Gandee (healthy this year) and Tyler Thompson to have big seasons at FH.

Mike Waderker, Belpre owns centerfield, batted almost .500 with 5 home runs.

No his dad played at Warren. Although he had a cousin(a girl) that did play basketball for FH.

Mainly outfield but middle infield too. Waderker is a good outfielder with a big stick as well. He is a great player all around. I know Grant Smith as well and he as so is a good player. Here at VC our outfield will most likely be Bentley in center and Reed and Clark in left and right. VC will have great speed in the outfield this year. With Grillo and Ankrom in the middle of the infield they will be very strong defensively.

Yea, I'd probably (j/k) take that Riffle kid from Southern, if I had the chance to do so. Chapman is pretty good as well.

Eastern has a few good players, too. I look for them to challenge again this year.

I hope that it will stop raining so that local teams can actually get outside.

Yesterday was good enough for us to go out for just a little while. It was great yesterday, but today was a different story. I am with you guys I hope the weather breaks soon. But lets get back to the subject of defensive players.

I think waterford's whole team is full of gold glovers. LOL...not really none of waterford's good athletes in basketball and football even play baseball because waterford baseball is a joke and nobody takes it seriously. Too bad because I really like watching good baseball.

Vinton County Baseball has been a joke the past couple years but hopefully we can turn that around this year.

Threesportathelete, I think describing VC baseball as "a joke over the last couple of years" is a little harsh. According the the schools website- 55-67 over the last 5 years. Room for improvement, but not a joke. I'm sure Coach Ward, Coach Combs and other coaches and players who have worked hard in the program for that time, don't consider it "a joke" either.

I didnt mean it as a joke just that we havent lived up to what everyone has been expecting. Hopefully this year we will have a winning season. Last year i do think we were 10-14 but it could have been better. We came along down the stretch but that was because we were young and so this year with more experience we should be fine. Better than what everyone is saying.
