The Nelsonville Nine scrimmaged Miller on Wednesday and won. NY started 2 freshmen in the game, but have a few players that didn't play due to various reasons. The game started out slow, but the Buckeyes focused and made several excellent defensive plays including a diving catch in Left Field by one of those freshmen!!! NY put 4 pitchers on the mound including the other freshman. They all threw strikes and let the defense work behind them. Hitting can use some improvement. A couple of the players "stung" the ball, but as a whole, the team must work on making contact.

I was impressed that the Buckeyes turned things around in this scrimmage and stayed confident. Keep up the good work!!!

On Saturday, the Buckeyes traveled to Paint Valley for a DH and lost both games. The Bucks hung tough in the first game but couldn't get that timely hit. The second game didn't go as well. The Buckeyes look good defensively for so early in the year, but have much room for improvement.

Focus in the field and relax at the Bat! GO BUCKEYES!!!

The Buckeyes lost to Belpre on Monday night, 10-5. but showed some progress. Again, the Bucks hung tough until the end of the Game. Gotta focus for 7 innings!!!

Tonight, the Buckeyes won 6-5 over Alexander. Nick Hunter went the distance on the mound for NY. The defense played very well and the offense got timely hitting. One of the best games for the Buckeyes in recent memory. The Fruitdale Hollow boys had good games tonight along with Michael Barrick, Taco and the Crocodile. Great game Buckeyes, keep the ball rollin'!!!
